Adele, that dress is just droolworthy! It reminds me of a pattern I have that's from 1937. I made up one this last year. Such a lovely dress! Congrats on the good find!
So cute! I'm a little scared to try anything with fingers still. Did you find a pattern, or did you make it up? I noticed the V&A had some knitted items on their site and they're really inspiring. I love this little jug

I actually have the book, and was leafing through and realized it was actually a vintage pattern everyone was talking about lol
Thanks for the condolences in the yarn. I had it sitting around and figured since it was only...
I just finished the 3 hour sweater, which was more like 12 hours. It didn't really come out like the illustration. And I didn't even read the thread on it until I was mostly done with it. Ah well. It's really not very good and my yarn stretched out A LOT. It was cheap-o pound of acrylic...
Oh my goodness! Thank you! What a lovely surprise :o
I've been very blessed by this place, and it's been a pleasure to share my love of the era and fashion with all of you!
Such a lovely Christmas gift. Thank you! :D

That's a great article!! I'm doing one that called for 6 stitches per inch, but I didn't get it small enough, so I am doing 5 stitches per inch, so it's good to know it's normal and I figured it out right. Math's certainly not my strong point. [huh]
This is super inspiring! I can't believe how talented you all are with your needles! It makes me want to keep on going with mine and not move on to other projects, which is definitely a good thing :D
Speaking of movies- one Busby Berkeley number has a human formation of the NRA eagle. I think it's the "Forgotten Man" number.

I'm not a purist, but when I do dress vintage I like to be as authentic as I can. I love the history of the period and many aspects, but confining my interests to one period isn't possible for me! I love everything from 18th century to the early 40's, and whatever period I want to portray I...
