Here are some of the items I got in NYC - sorry the pictures are so poor:
Classic Chanel two-tone pumps:
Ralph Lauren slingbacks (surprisingly comfortable):
Badgley Mischka shoes (needed a new pair of dressy black shoes):
Two Moschino scarves - these are so long they...
You know me so well Miss Sofia! I just LOVE LK Bennett shoes and if they come with a bow all the better! I saw a fabulous pair of Badgley Mischka shoes in NY that I fell in love with - black satin with this lovely bow corsage at the toe - sadly they didn't have my size *sniff* but I got...
I got lots of great compliments when we were in NYC - I find that New Yorkers are very forthcoming with compliments and asking about your ensemble. I was in the Algonquin having a drink and when going down to the ladies this older man was coming up the very narrow stairs so I held back and he...
Miss Sofia - thanks - it's lovely to be back home - NYC was really starting to heat up before we left but we had an amazing time - I can never grow tired of the place!
Beth & Drappa - thank you!
Odalisque - thank you and I know what you mean about the 24" waist - I hate when I see a skirt and love it only to discover it has a 22" or 24" waist. I can just about squeeze into a 25" but no way am I getting into a 24" - that pesky extra inch!!!!!!!
I went...
Cute hat but the rest of the outfit is quite poor - I think the heavier jacket doesn't go with what appears to be a chiffon skirt and I agree with some other posters here on the skirt - it's too short.
The Adjustment Bureau & Hall Pass - I had no real interest in watching either movie but the selection on the plane was poor so this was the best of the bunch that I hadn't already seen.
That is just plain horrible - imagine cutting up that beautiful gown - doesn't bear thinking about - cutting away history and a truly stunning dress. I really don't like dresses above the knee (never really have) and I don't care how young/old you are I don't think knees are the nicest parts of...
Cherry Lips & Drappa - thank you both!
I got these lovely cigarette pants today - they are by Tabak of California and come from the estate of their head designer of many years, Irene Saltern. She was also a costume designer for the movies:
I have never heard of her but certainly keep my eye out! I think I would be the same - when you wear something of value you can end up spending your evening constantly checking that it is still on your person or beside you (in the case of expensive/beloved purses etc.) - at the same time I have...
Thank you Katinka! I got such a rush when I saw the label - couldn't believe my eyes - or my luck!!!!!!!
That's incredible about your brooch - congrats! Can I ask what make was it? Do you have any pics?!
Your story reminds me of this man who was on Oprah - he was in a Curio shop and...
I had it in my head that James Garner was in TTWH (I haven't seen it since I was a child) but have to confess when I saw John Forsyth in it I didn't recognise him (although his voice is unmistakable) - some people seem to look the same all their lives and just get older - he looked so different...
I was browsing the other day and came across this red suit - when I saw the label I could not believe my eyes - a suit by Sybil Connolly - and when I saw the price - well I was blown away - the seller was only looking for $28 for it. I guess the seller wasn't aware of how sought after her...
