Thank you Lauren and SugarKitten!
And another fan of Creperie Lepic Assiette, how exciting!
Also, there is a chain of Ice Cream parlours called Amorino that is wonderful, and another one called Berthillon. Make sure you take your mom to one of these, the ice cream is outstanding. Can you...
Well, I do get strange reactions to some cosmetics, my parents both have odd skin allergies as well. I once had to stay home from work because my eyes were swollen shut from an eye cream, and if I paint my nails I have to make sure to not put my hands near my face for a few hours as they get...
Oh, and not sure you'll be there, but we found the most amazing creperie in Montmartre, which was full of locals and had such great crepes, both for dinner and dessert. It's called Creperie Lepic Assiette on 35 Rue Lepic. I would have eaten there every day had we discovered it earlier, and it...
I've never seen the show so just googled her. Don't know why, but expected her to be slightly younger. Is this her?
Reminds me of my aunt, albeit more stylish.
Sorry to hear this, I hope you'll have a wonderful trip! And in this case feel free to dress to the nines, both of you! It'll be fun and such great memories.
:o Thank you Miss Hannah! I was a bit hesitant of posting pictures of myself on here because everyone is so stylish and well put together and pretty, (and because your pics from Paris look like a photoshoot) but I'm feeling more confident now :)
I just returned last night from a four day trip to Paris, and it was warm but not hot. I also found Parisiennes very friendly and wore what I liked, usually a cotton dress with petticoat, wedges and a cardigan. I am not sure obviously, but don't think we stuck out too much because in four days...
I just tried Lipcote for the first time after the rave reviews here and it makes me break out in itchy hives all around my mouth. I wore it for two to three days (with a week's break in between) and really liked it, until the third day each time I started to get super itchy and my skin around my...
Thanks for the advice, I also thought it's maybe too much. The same seller has the same hat in black with red cherries, so am thinking of that. Also got a red velvet one and think maybe just black stockings.
Well said. Of course you'd say that if you were head of a huge cosmetics firm.
I also reject the notion that everyone has to make an effort with their appearance in some way. Some people just don't care about this and prefer to spend their time otherwise, which doesn't make them ugly. Then...
Also got this great crochet book and this fabric
to make in this pattern:
Then, this pattern
And finally my favourite modern 60's inspired dress I wore to a friend's wedding. Excuse the bad changing room picture.
I have been meaning to put these up as I bought them but am a newbie to Photobucket, so here it goes all at once. Hubby got me this adorable 60's dress and coat in a charity shop last week, which just came from the dry-cleaners. Unfortunately there are some small stains on the bottom front that...
I actually wear modern ones, as I find the fitted busts on most vintage don't fit me properly. My favourite two are from Noa Noa and I got them cheaply on Ebay. The other ones I got years ago (believe it or not) at H&M and they are sleek and stretchy and super comfy as well.
Even though we have enough rooms and two beds in the house to sleep in separate beds, we never do so unless one of our pets is sick, in that case I have slept on the couch in the living room to be with them.
Hubby jerks and twitches a lot in his sleep and sometimes snores. Just this morning he...
Thank you!
About the actual topic, I gave up my job last year due to relocation and haven't found a new one yet, so have been a bit down. But I always make sure to wear make-up and try to wear a dress every day, even though I mainly just walk the dog. I am doing a bit of temporary work this...
Oh, I was thinking of getting a perm, but my hair is super straight and last time I had one I was 13 and it looked terrible after about two weeks. How did you find a hairdresser who got it right and vintagey? (Sorry this is OT)
Except everyone has different perceptions of what makes one "look good". Some people actually don't think certain clothes or make-up styles look good, despite the effort.
