Oooh, I can't stand Chris Noth's brows, but different strokes for different folks I guess :) His brows have just bugged me through every episode of SATC.
I'm really happy with my brows and get complimented on them occasionally, so I don't mess with them too much. I tweeze some strays and used...
It is! My roomates used to laugh at me, but I can't eat peanut butter and jam for the life of me, it just feels like cement in my mouth and seems to be expanding. But I looove peanut butter with fresh fruit, preferably slightly crunchy. Oh, now I'm hungry...:)
Not sure if you are still trying this, since it's a slightly older post, but the best vegan cookbooks I ever got (and I have many) are by Tanya Barnard and Sarah Kramer. http://www.amazon.com/How-All-Vegan-Irresistible-Animal-Free/dp/1551520672/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1282172239&sr=1-1...
Thanks, that's what I thought. I got a dress really cheaply recently and it was advertised as 40s and from a discontinued British label, but the finishing is definitely not 40s. I think it is actually 70s does 40s, so at least no big shoulder pads and polyester thankfully. It'll be good for...
Well, I phoned them yesterday morning (in New Orleans, afternoon here), and they were going to phone other stores to find a smaller size, but no news yet. I also emailed for a returns code, but haven't heard anything yet and am a little anxious.
Little update, the dress arrived and it is much, much to big. I just phoned them again and they think the 8 might be sold out, but are trying to source one for me. I already started getting all the accessories, too. Sigh...
In my case I guess I should have stayed true to the online sizing guide.
Elastic waists
So, I have been seeing a lot of 50's dresses lately, especially shirtwaist ones, with elastic waists. Does anyone know when exactly they started putting them in, because some dresses I am 99% sure are actually from the 50's, but then I always thought elastic waists weren't...
Not sure how keen you are on the solid sole of the Dr. Martens, but my absolute favourite flat Mary Janes are by Hush Puppies (called Brietta) and I have them in brown and black. A while ago I had some trouble with my feet and was advsied to only wear flats for a while, and these are super comfy...
Oh, good luck on that one! Hope you win it and that the price doesn't go too high.
Yes, I can only imagine two women planning one, but it seems to be going really smoothly so far.:)
In that case you can definitely go more formal and dressy with lace, satins, taffetta, etc.
My friend's wedding will be a lesbian wedding with two brides, neither of whom are wearing a traditional wedding gown and kept changing their mind about colours etc, so it was a bit tricky. I have had...
I think it's a cute dress and beautiful colour, but not sure corduroy is dressy enough?
I have the same dilemma, I am in a wedding this October and spent months looking, but then decided on a Trashy Diva rayon dress with bright red accessories. And the reception for my friend's wedding is also...
I am about to cry. I got outbid in the last ten seconds and my bid was so high already. All week I have been dreaming up outfits with this dress and it was going to be my new staple.
It wasn't that expensive either, so I hope it goes with the dress and shoes and that I can pull off the look. I was hoping to find a 40s hat but really love this one. Oh well, I still wear things I bought ten years ago, so maybe it's not so bad mixing eras as surely women must have done it back...
Thanks again for the help deciding:) I feel like I have a personal stylist :D I also wasn't sure if the bow would make me look like Minnie Mouse. Ok, just purchased the first one.
