    Photos of hatters tools

The copyright law is working as intended, bequeathing these works to the people after a period of exclusivity to the authors. And yes, there is always a lot of free information out there for anyone willing to spend the time it takes to find it.

Penney's Marathon Beaver 100 Hat And Suitcase

And (faintly) in my early 50's Beaver 100 by Out West Hatters (made by Langenberg, I'm sure, given it's own recognizable legend). "Faint hat never won fair lady."

Penney's Marathon Beaver 100 Hat And Suitcase

And not as clear, but still present on my early 50's Nutria Quality Stetson cowboy hat. "Faint hat never won fair lady."

    Rounding Jack

Yes, indeed. Especially if sold at a fair price. The problem is that the tools that are generally available are very expensive because they are either collector's items or heirloom quality tools. Well made functional & affordable tools would surely find a ready market.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

TJ, I like it a lot! Your renovation skills are increasing exponentially. What did you do with the long-delayed Knox Westlite 15? Olé, I'm game, but I've gotta say it looks pretty good as it is, and sounds like a comfortable fit. "Faint hat never won fair lady."

Penney's Marathon Beaver 100 Hat And Suitcase

Justin (Splintercellz) posted a query regarding a Marathon with the same LBC legend imprinted on the back of the sweat - you might see if he ever learned more about it. I'm coming up short, but based on the Stetson St. Regis tie in, it may just have been a high end provider of sweats or maybe a...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Justin, I have straight sided blocks from 6 3/4 to 7 3/4, I am sure it's close enough ;-). I'll keep you posted. This one will be a labor of love, so I'm not going to rush it... "Faint hat never won fair lady."

Penney's Marathon Beaver 100 Hat And Suitcase

I forgot to check my Churchill before leaving home, but recently saw a 1950's Stetson St. Regis with the red LBC stamp on the inside of the sweat. It's posted on Etsy by a friend. She didn't photo the stamp. "Faint hat never won fair lady."

Thanks Brad! I'll do my best to rebuild it and post photos in another thread. "Faint hat never won fair lady."

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Garret, it's about a 7 1/8, but hard to say for sure. I'll measure it and post all specs in a more appropriate thread. I've posted all of the basic info I could glean, which is not much. "Faint hat never won fair lady."

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Justin, it is a beauty, but needs some attention. I _think_ it's a Knapp felt and one of the hat of the month hats. I paid $5 for it ;-) "Faint hat never won fair lady."

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Here is the C&K hat, which I suspect may have been part of the series. I found it in a Santa Cruz California antique store. I've laid the trim back on for the photo, but it did not have a sweat. It's had a Naptha dip. The felt is very thin and of high quality. Brad, Olé, Anyone have...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

That's great Olė! I have an old C&K that I believe is period appropriate. I'll send you photos. Maybe you can help me identify the model. It's for repair, having been purchased for $5 with no sweat (but with liner). It's an amazing felt, to be sure. I've always wanted to purchase the ads...
