Resistol Kitten Finish
Here's my Resistol porkie, replacing the Stetson I traded for my Vita-Felt. It's in nice shape except for a small stain on the crown, which is less noticable in real life than in the pictures.
I won this one a while back and haven't said much about it. Frankly it's not my nicest Borsalino, the felt has none of that butter softness of my other Borsas.
Having said that, it's still a nice hat and I like the fact that it was first sold in The Eternal City.
Here are some pictures...
My two Borsalino Homburgs, probably 1950s:
My Borsalino first sold in Saigon or Pnomh Penh, probably 1920s:
My Borsalino "Open Road," probably 1950s-60s:
I was watching it and was glad you got it. I'm looking forward to a detailed report when you get it in your hands. $100 was a lot of money back then, at least equivalent to $1,000 today if not much more. It must be a heck of a hat.
Fair warning: When I started here six months ago, I had two hats and thought people who had as many as a dozen hats were crazy.
Now I have nearly 40 (every time I try to count them I end up missing one or two) and I was right. lol
I used to think it was just for teenage girls, but I'm 45 and now I have one. And no, I'm not trolling for teenage girls, I haven't the energy.
