I personally drift in and out of the edge of vintage, never quite totally immersing myself. But that's just my comfort zone. I think you should just go with how you feel and not try and over think it too much.:)

Maybe yours was more of a novelty hat? It's hard to imagine a Greek fisherman going out and buying a new hat every time he was caught out in the rain (which must be quite often if you are a fisherman). ;)

I too collect old flea market photos, but I have never found any like your wartime photos here in the US. I'm grateful that you are preserving that little bit of history.
