Since we are casting a pretty wide net here, I'll have to throw in Fight Club.

    Sadly, tonite in 1938

The first time I remember reading about this was at the Holocaust Museum in D.C., probably eight years ago now. I don't think my wife or I said hardly a word the whole time we were there, it's all just so horrible.

    PET PEEVE HAT

I know people have been ragging on the lowly "Trucker Hat" here, but it is also just a baseball cap with a mesh back. When I played little league baseball in the early 70's those were the exact type of caps we all had, I guess because they were cheap, but they sure were a lot cooler than an all...

    The Skipper's Hat?

Wool will maintain its proper shape when washed correctly; if it is mistreated and washed with too much agitation the fibers bind and contract, kind of like a zip tie. It's a one-way deal. So just getting it wet is ok, but don't try and wring it out!

Changing my 'everyday style' to that of the Golden Era?

It seems we have quite a few high school folks here (like dinerman) that dress vintage, and they seem to be surviving just fine. It might be good to pm some of them on their thoughts too.

    PET PEEVE HAT

According to Loungers very knowledgeable in such matters the short brimmed hounds-tooth hats can be traced back to the 20's and 30's. But I don't like them either.:) I guess my pet peeve would be how most people think brims started wide and slowly shrank into the stingy brims popular in the...

    The Skipper's Hat?

They look the same except the Skipper's bill is matte. They probably knocked the sheen down for TV production reasons.

1940's Stetson Soveign for walking around town and an ensemble with it.

I've found that putting on the weight has a lot more to do with women than time. When I was single I was thin, not because I was working out but I just didn't eat as much. Sometime I would just forget too. My wife never lets me skip a meal, when it's time to eat it's time to eat dag nabbit! ;)

Well, It Looks Like I'm On Strike...

As a fellow creative you have my full support. Writers are the real brains of Hollywood, without them actors have nothing interesting to say.

    Thompson M1A1

We were issued one Grease Gun per tank, so it didn't matter what it weighed because I didn't have to carry it ;) . I think it's perfect in an Armor role with the folding stock, that's why we didn't get M-16s. It would be pretty tough to get in and out of the tank in a hurry with something that long.

    Car Key Woes!

There's just no way those should cost that much. A 4 GB Flash card only cost $40, you can even buy an iPod or a 7 mega pixel digital camera for less than most of those keys. It's just an outright scam is all, I don't care how "secure" they say it is, new cars still get stolen all the time...

When they say "Butcher's cap", do they refer to a newsboy styled cap? In the 1930s

When I was in High School we wore those kind of paper hats at McDonalds. This was in the late 70's, I'm not sure when they switched to ballcaps.:p
