Any of you ladies or gents ever had pastrami from Katz's on Houston and Ludlow? Deadly stuff, but MAN is it good. They've been serving it on that corner since the 1890's.
"Yeah, you're right, kid. Cooper does make a good jacket for knocking about in. The problem I have with the Real McCoy is that it's made in Christchurch, New Zealand. I got nothing against New Zealand. Great people, wonderful country. But,they never had a contract with the USAF back in the WWII...
Anybody seen THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES ? This is a special movie. Required viewing for anyone seeking deeper insight into the psyche of our grandparents' generation. I cannot stress enough the importance of this film.
Maybe I'm just a sentimental mush, but I don't think so...
Looking foward...
Cooper makes a decent jacket for knocking about in. They had a small contract during WWII making A-2s for the USAAF, but the modern USAF and civilian A-2s they've produced are quite different from the wartime A-2s of the 30's and 40's in pattern and spec quality.
For an excellent reproduction...

Here in New York only the old Ziegfeld Theater remains to provide the old-timey bowtied-and-bejacketed usher service, but boy! is it a humdinger of a movie house! Mahogany and velvet all over the place. Anyone visiting the city owes it to themself to enjoy a flick there.
After a very scientific study of the elder members of my esteemed family, it appears that macaroni and cheese was the overwhelmingly favored meal of the "duration."
Worst job: paperboy.
Ages eleven to thirteen. Delivering the Trenton Times. Waking up at 4:30 every morning, be it Christmas or Groundhog Day. Truding through the snow while squirrels laughed. Robbed at gunpoint for eight dollars, always carried my Crossman air pistol jammed in my waistband...
NARROW MARGIN is definitely the winner of the bunch. I'm surprised that DILLINGER was included in that set, whoever put it together must have a very loose defintion of Noir.
I've only owned one McCoy's, a McCoy's Sportswear model from the late 90's. I wasn't crazy about the thinnish hide and quickly sold it, but the details (United Carr snaps etc.) were outstanding. I've seen many other McCoy's with different hides and I've been very impressed, their Monarch model...
My two cents.
