    At long last the thrift stores are restocking their scarves! The first one isn't that old and is made by Forsyth. The second one, however, is a really nice vintage rayon, maker unknown. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to age?

    Didn't really look like there was anywhere for that poor guy to run! I suspect there may be more live people around that haven't been discovered yet.

    I was afraid they were going to create a new Shane-like plot line with one of the new characters. A short-lived fear, fortunately. Some new hard edges in this episode. Walking Dead continues to intrigue.

    Thanks, all. Glad I was able to rescue it before the dealers found it! As far as value, that's a bit tough. It's a small piece, only about 8 inches long but it's in good shape (a couple of minor dings in the tail). In addition it's definitely "vintage"...meaning prior to 1972 or so. By '72...

    Rummage sale season is in full swing. Found this lovely Inuit stone (argillite) carving of a cormorant today. Created by Johnassie Mannuk of Sanikiluaq before 1972. A nice little artwork for mere pocket change (literally)!

    Lovely clock, Miss. I admire your commitment in hauling it back from Nice to Dublin! I must admit I would have passed on it for that very reason. I enjoy the sound of a ticking clock as well but it drives my wife and son crazy. I even stopped using my pocket watch because it ticked too loud!

    Auschwitz: The Nazis and the Final Solution. Part one of an exceptional BBC documentary series. Compelling.

    Premature burial that causes you the most pain....

    They did the same thing to Wonderfalls...cancelled after 2 or 3 episodes. Ended up picking up the DVD of this very well written whimsical series. Not everyone's cup of tea, certainly, but it deserved better treatment than that.
