I like that analogy. There was another poster here recently that kept critiquing the Lounge forum and how it failed in comparison to some other music or instrument-related boards he was on. I enjoy music very much (at least some types) but have no talent for it; perhaps that ability takes a...
My goodness! I like Conagher, and I'm a Barry Corbin fan, but I swear that seems almost disrespectful to that hat. I never would have guessed it was the same one. Thanks for sharing that information; I'll have to watch closer the next time I watch Conagher.
It sounds like Rick at Phoenix is your man. The first hat Rick built for me was intended to be a beater/work/woods hat. Western-weight beaver felt, and it has stood time, weather, and wear extremely well so far.
Here's the link where I reviewed the hat, if you're interested...
I agree with Eric - I am lucky enough to have two hats that Michael custom-built for me, and couldn’t be more pleased. Great hats, and great person to deal with!
That was indeed a horrible fire. Along with several other tragic fires (Our Lady of Angels and he Triangle Shirtwaist fires), this is one of the case studies used to train upcoming firefighters about fire behavior, people behavior, building construction, and the foundations for modern fire code law.
Maybe things are different in Germany, but in rural America a round trip to town, including errands, eats up half a day or more. So you can bet we buy a week’s worth of groceries at a time, and we won’t be going to multiple stores to do it. The impatient people can either use the self-checkout...
It’s pretty common for batches of Akubra hats to be three months or so out, depending on your size. I ordered this exact same hat, was told three months’ wait, and received it in right at four months. It’s a nice hat, though, and definitely worth a two-month wait.
Good luck!
Not a "sign" as such, but the Mill Mountain Star in Roanoke, VA was first lit 70 years ago today, and is still in operation nightly. Nearly 90 feet tall with 2,000 feet of neon tubing, it gave rise to Roanoke being known as "The Star City of the South"...
Wait, what? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but you imply that because I don't care for tattoos on a lady, I am racist? Even if I don't care for them, I certainly would not comment negatively about her tattoos, but even if I was so rude that hardly makes me "racist". That word is getting worn...
I can't argue with anything posted here. One of the things that make these characters from Lonesome Dove so real to me is that they all have great strengths, but they all have their own unique human failings as well. Gus is certainly more "fun", but still very capable when he needed to be; he...
I think that was actually Karl Urban - I re-watched Comanche Moon a couple weeks ago when I was laid up sick. He and Steve Zahn, who played Gus, did pretty well copying the mannerisms of the original Gus and Woodrow (Duvall and Jones), but it just wasn't the same for me.
Yahoody, I never got...
