    Project Runway

My favorite moment is when Michael Kors called someone a wackadoo. I love that Robert Best with his Barbies. I wanted to see his whole bio video--I'm sure it was a hoot. Oh and that Kayne with his "NO WIRE HANGERS" bit. Priceless! But seriously--that Vincent must have drunk a cup of...

    Going to the Brimfield,Mass Antique

I used to work at Old Sturbridge Village (great cocktail fodder from working at that joint) and I went to every single event for three years. Not that many good places to eat--except there is a great pizza place right near there. Trust me, it's the only one, but it's really good. A lot of...

    Customer Appreciation Gifts

How about a book on a vintage topic of choice? I'm sure a good search on Amazon would bring you quite a few nice coffee table books with pretty pictures that would be a lovely thank you for anyone. Good luck!

    Role Model?

So many role models--who to choose? Well, I guess I see both of my parents are my role models. Strong capable people who face the days' battles with a smile and a resolve to think beyond themselves. But vintage wise--I really get a kick out of Rosalind Russell. Smart savvy. All of her...

    Sew Retro

Wow! This thread is inspiring me to try my grandmother's old sewing machine that she left me in her will. I think I treasure my vintage thread too much to use them unless it's the perfect color match for something I'm working on. When I was a little girl I used to play with my grandmother's...

All of these vintage shoes are just divine! But alas, I too have huge size 10 feet. Anyone ever come across a vintage shoe that big? I don't think I've ever even seen them on eBay! Sigh! Someday....

    Favorite Vintage Perfumes

So many good perfumes, I should start wearing them more often. Without even knowing it my two first perfumes were more vintage ones and they still smell quite nice: - Diorissimo - Fracas Ah, but what about White Shoulders--I remember hearing that it was first introduced during the...

    Old fashioned names new again....

Family Names My mother's side has a very old family tree going back to the 1700s and a native American named Morning Jeffries born in 1728. And my brother has taken it upon himself to reproduce to the point of using up every single name on the list. Here are his kids' names: - Banks Dorsey...

    China Patterns

Fiestaware I don't know about formal diningware out there, but for everyday dishes nothing beats Fiestaware and you can easily register for the modern items (which are based on the vintage ones from 1937) at Macys.com. And in such jaunty colors. And they are practically indestrucable!
