Clubwitsend, that trunk is absolutely AMAZING! Oh my gosh! Can I just come over and touch it? lol
Inky, that frock is fabulous! I love the tone of gold.
Mojito, I was just discussing these with a friend a few days ago! Can you tell me, were they meant to be hats or wigs? I've seen them sold as both. And how did they come about?
Congrats on your find!
I have given a few gifts to non-vintage friends, but they didn't ever wear the clothing. I've had a bit more luck with old books- if you know something someone is interested in sometimes they get a kick out of a vintage book about it.
A couple of friends and my husband and I went out to antique stores last week. Most often we get "Are you in a play" or "are you performers" which I think is hilarious because the golden rule of costuming is not to let them leave the theatre, and usually, even in small budget, you get dressed...
Yeah, could be! It's a mystery! I know they have this wierd machine at a place I used to work that could get into tiny nooks and crannies. Kind of looked like a sewing machine I'd imagine a cobbler would use but I never saw anyone use it.
It kind of looked like this, but huge and old and heavy...

Thank you so much, gals, for your comments on my outfit! :o I'm truly very flattered!
Blondie, I've been sewing since I was about 8 years old although that sometimes included safety pins and tape. My early barbie dresses were stylin', let me assure you. lol Seriously, probably, since I was...
I remembered to take some of my hair the way I did it for Thanksgiving :)
Kind of messy in the set pics cause that was after sleeping on it and sitting under the dryer for a long while.
Amy Jeanne, that's fabulous! I love the puffy sleeves! Really awesome pattern, too.
I got to wear this outfit I made on Thanksgiving. I can't remember if I posted blouse pics here or not before, but here it is with a skirt I made. I feel very late 30s collegiate in this outfit. :) It's...
AWESOME! I'm really loving seeing this! It's so inspiring to see them all up in rollers or pincurls and how it turns out. Thanks, gals! Keep them coming! :eusa_clap
I really wasn't expecting to win either of these, what with the pattern prices going the way they have lately, but I was as pleased at punch that I got them both for inexpensively! :D I'm having all sorts of visions for the 30s one. It's missing instructions, but I don't care.
