Stratton Trooper to 1883 Campaign Hat???

Yes, it has been tried, hawked on e-bay as an original Span-Am War hat, but you're right, there isn't really enough crown on the Stratton trooper caps to get the reverse taper of an original M1883. Doesn't hurt to try, though. Love to see some pictures of your attempt. dean

    The 'Douglas' contest

I was going for "hitman-about-to-finish-the-job" but now that you mention it, a grin seems latent. A sadistic streak, no doubt. "Angeleyes" in "The G, The B and The U". You and gtdean look suitably menacing, I must say. dean

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Indy, you were born to wear that Campdraft; it looks simply outstanding on you! The tiny hat on your daughter is, cute, too.:) Carter, your Strat is pinched to perfection, but I can't help but think that the camera adds a bit to the crown. Whatcha think? dean

    Korean War Crew caps

I know this is not WWII stuff, but I didn't want to intrude on the fedora forum because it seems wrong to post this style of headgear there, even though I have in the past. Anyway, while I was off fedoras over the last year, I got into USAF crew caps, as per previous postings I made during this...

First hat and first bash. How am I doing?

Camera phones don't provide great shots, evidence the shot in my avatar. The brim looks too small and the crown looks short, but I swear, the dimensions are not that deficient, and my cheeks are not quite that chipmunkish.;) dean

    ReCrease Question

This sounds like a re-blocking issue, even if, and I wonder if it's done, a re-blocking to open crown condition. Steaming can really have some challenges with ghost creases. For me, I always prefer doing the work myself, probably only sending the hat to Optimo or someplace if I fail...
