WOW DEADSTOCK 30s TIE FABRIC--ART DECO GALORE

JonnyO, I'm afraid there wasn't enough. The narrow loom of the vintage silk left less leeway than I expected, so I couldn't squeeze out a bow. I could do two neckties and a bow out of a piece, though.

WOW DEADSTOCK 30s TIE FABRIC--ART DECO GALORE

Okay, gents, here are the first ties made up of this fabric! Who's in for more ties? If the seller continues to cut as she has been, I can get three 47" ties from one piece, or the third tie can be a bowtie if requested. I'm suggesting the following two fabrics for the next order, but if...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I usually filter my search results by maximum price, just so I don't torture myself over things I really can't afford right now. A lot of the things he puts up look great, but it's just not gonna happen. Ofcoursemyhorse, that's a great homburg! I've been looking to replace my black homburg...

    What to make with this?

Here's an 8-dart opened up, it takes a lot bigger piece of fabric than an 8-panel, which may be a problem if yardage is at a premium. http://vintagehaberdashers.com/2012/05/28/1930s-cap-construction-part-2/

Anyone else interested in trying out ration dieting?

My wife and I have been using British wartime recipes for our daily meals for a couple of years. We aren't rationing, but those recipes are really very good, and very healthy. We had been working on making our food healthier before, but the wartime cookbooks have really helped (though we have...

BACK ON EBAY 30 summer suit!

I'd say it's a 38, not a 36. 2" of wearing ease for a 38 chest. As for cleaning and repairs, as a seller who's handy with needle and thread I've mended pieces before listing, but I will not replace missing buttons, nor do I generally clean items. Drycleaning is expensive and destructive, and...
