Women go weak for stroking my Teddy Bear flying jacket!! (one crazy story)

Fur pants would be loud and tacky. Sheer overkill. A fur codpiece is much classier.

    Are all Cooper A2s goatskin?

I've seen several Cooper horsehide A-2s in the "flesh". They were all clearly labeled as horsehide on an inside label. Surprisingly nice grainy seal..

Man, chicks just dig flight jackets. Especially chicks on ecstasy.

The QUALITY of 1937 Sears suits !

I have an old suit jacket with the Sears "Individually Tailored" label dated 1937. Aqua blue with pinstripes and a bi-swing "action" back. The quality is on par with most asuits of the period I own or have handled. It is fully-lined with rayon, however, not skeleton-lined.

    Dating Florsheim shoes.

I recently picked up an old pair of russet-colored Florasheim brogues with that old nubbly embossed grain. I'm trying to figure out roughly how old they are. One thing apparent to me is that they lack the little cloth "cameo" tag inside either shoe.Does anyone here know when that tag was first...

    Marty

Agreed regarding what has been previously said about the original. That it was performed live contributed much to it's tension. Hard to believe that Paddy Chayefsy (sp?) went on to write ALTERED STATES.

    Vodka

I've worked on and off in bars for over thirteen years. I've always been baffled by something about vodka. Among Eastern Europeans it seems to be regarded as something of a manly drink, much like bourbon in the West. However, in the bars of New York, nine out of ten vodka drinkers are women.

    Out of the Past

I first saw this via a newly restored print in the private theater at DeNiro's Tribeca Grill 'round ten years back. There was a lecture by an NYU professor about the movie before the screening. If memory serves, both Raymond Chandler and James M. Cain were hired at different points to punch up...

What do you do for Living?

I fund my vintage attire by selling vintage clothing on eBay. Most of what I sell is men's vintage clothing scavenged at flea markets and thrift stores (that is, the stuff I find that doesn't fit me). Nearly everything I sell either goes to Japan or France. Clearly these are people of taste.

Ultimate EASTMAN (ELC) flying kit thread.

Huh? Are you saying that ELC jackets run small? Not in my experience. I wear a size 40 in McCoy's and Lost Worlds and 38 in Rickson's and Aero but in an Eastman I wear a 36, and this is after they sized down their patterns a few years back
