Thanks, Kampkatz. I wasn't trying to be hard on the forum, I admire those who know the real from the fake. I would prefer a repro. I'm simply trying to see if the style works for me. And ten bucks wouldn't break the bank, right now, (which is not a good time for banks;) ). I also realize it...
Knowing what tough crowd this outerwear forum is, especially on leathers that a) are not faithful reproductions of A-2s, et.al., b) made in China, or c) haven't got appropriate manufacturer pedigree, I just thought I'd post this ebay win because it was such a deal and allows me the A-2 "look"...
I agree with HGene on the brim snap, farther back on either side will do the trick. Will be waiting for pics of your efforts! Great hat collection!

I've been trying to put a bit more back tilt when I wear one, since I've been getting back into it. I like the way it brings the brim and crown into a nice balance. It isn't quite to the degree in the posted stills, but it sure isn't two fingers off the bridge of the nose, either. More like...
Hawk, thanks, everyone who finds a vintage deal like this wins!
Pilgrim, your sentiment is greatly appreciated and returned in the same spirit. Thank you.
Jabos, you're so-o-o-o right! You almost can't believe your eyes. You believe your head when you put it on and it fits. Great hat...
I like them all, all kinds, but especially the M1883 like bbc1969 posted. Your Cav hat is terrific looking and I love this thread. Thank you for posting.

Welcome to the Lounge! You'll find a warm and inviting bunch here who value new members and love to encourage new Loungers in their vintage gear pursuits! I wish I had enough funds to get one of those B-2s. Nice to hear you appreciate its practicality and its historical value. Great to have...
Dittos to Randooch's advice! I think you'd do a porkpie proud, like Bolthead. I would definitely try a few different styles and and colors, some greys and neutrals, higher squarer crowns, some wider brims; I think a Campdraft is in your future.

Thank you, Bolt and Scion, and all the rest my fellow loungers. Now it's time to focus on everyone else's acquistions, so many of us have so many great hats!

"You have a very nice Playboy....but I don't agree on the late 40's date. I'd say late 50's at the oldest and more likely in the 1960's. You know someone must play the devil's advocate."
I completely agree with your assessment, having done further research here in the Lounge. The plastic is...
More thank yous to you all for your compliments, and holy envy;). If I had Douglas' camera set-up, the hat would be faithfully presnted, and I realize that in the side shots of me wearing it, I didn't really pull it down as much as I could have, it does appear to be riding slightly high, but it...
