Can you help me date this item??

Edwardian or 1930's? Not sure of date on this coat. Anyone? I am thinking 30's, but Ebay said edwardian? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320086401567&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=011

Can you help me date this item??

The skirt is actually pretty bias cut, it's pretty narrow on me. Wasn't the fabric used in the 1970's blends and not pure silk? This one is hand sewn for the most part, which lends me to think it is earlier. It also looked like it was shortened, so it very well might have been a hostess gown.

Spring is almost here! What vintage items will you be wearing?

Another I have begun to get into for spring/summer is the mod mini dresses from the 1960's. Just recently, I have really started to expand my collection from just being 1920's and 1930's, now its 1910s-1960's.

Thanks for the great advice, everyone. Can you help me date this item??

Can someone help me date this dress? Can someone help me date this dress? I really want to wear it today, but I don't know what era of hat to place with it. This dress stumps me. It is longer then most 1940's dresses, it is made out of silk crepe, and is seems to be cut on the bias, no...

    Vintage Bathing Suits

The revamped suits are super cute! If I didn't have personal qualms against buying repros, I would be all over them. So, the bottom line about going in the water with something vintage, is it a yes or no? My two piece is made out of 'miracle' yarn, but I am not sure the miracle would hold up...

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

I love when little girls are facisinated by my vintage clothing. I went to pick up some stuff from my tailor, and her two daughters where they, probably aged 4 and 6, I was dressed in full out vintage, with gloves and hat and dress. They were so facinated by everything I had on, its like I as...

    Show us your vintage patterns!

Personally I don't sew....Machines hate me and I hate them... But there is a seamstress that I know who has made, a professional one who has made many repros, a lot of them she sells to this local vintage/bridal store in my area. One of my friends who is getting married got a 1930's wedding...

    Vintage Bathing Suits

After some info from the gals on another thread I don't what I have is an actual bikini, but what they called a two piece, as I believe it is pre 1946. Is there any good ways to date a bathing suit, or are they pretty hard to date?

    Incongruencies of body art?

My view of people wearing vintage clothing is people can do whatever they want, because everyone has thier own personal style.
