Thanks, BobC. Yes, I ordered it from this site:

The detail on the 'plane is just as crisp as on the original that I have.
I just got this in the mail to-day:
Here it is on my new VS Stratoliner-inspired fedora:
What do you think? It looks like a very good copy of the original DC-3 pin to my eyes.
Really fast shipping, too!
I've noticed that it's nowadays impossible to find the smaller, more dicreet feathers that were typical in the 60s and before. If anyone knows of a good source, please let me know!
I always put a feather in my hatband (except for thin-ribbons)! It lends a colorful note to a dark or formal hat, especially when worn with a dark suit.
I know Diazawaguy has a VS hat with a purple feather that is fantastic.
Hi, zetwal. I'm not quite sure how a fellow goes about measuring crown height. Do you measure from the inside or the outside? In any case, it's a tall crown!
Interesting observation, Dreispitz. Why do you think this is; is it just fashion, or is there some other reason?
When I wear my silver mist or smoke blue VS hats here in France, people tell me they find it strange or unusual to see a light-colored hat. They also find wide ribbons strange[huh] .
The art of Art
Another one from Art arrived yesterday:
Next to an Akubra Campdraft in Glenn Grey (Akubra on the right); Art's Steel Grey has more of a blue-ish cast and is a bit lighter:
What a great hat; it fits so perfectly that it feels like I'm wearing a Kleenex on my head...
Thanks for the extra photos, Goose. I think you look great in that hat, but then I'm a real stingy fan!
BinkieBeaumont, that clip was great! I had never heard of this comedian before, but I hope to discover more of his work:) .
