I think it looks great, but then I'm a big stingy fan. Good proportions. The brim would look better with a nice, tight curl flanged in. A binding on the brim would eliminate any "hacked-off" look. I'd also loosen the front pinch a bit.
And don't forget: federal law requires a colorful...
19th century: there is nothing cooler than a top hat!
1930s: soft hats (fedoras) were made with perfect proportions.
1960s: there is just something about stingy-brims that I like, even if I can't quite put my finger on it!
