Baking soda discolored my Akubra Cattleman. Anyway to save it?
You might try vacuuming it with a brush attachment. That will probably get the baking soda out, but won't correct the altered texture from sanding. -

Interesting, and congratulations! I thought the crown height on the Lightning Ridge and Banjo Paterson were very similar, just based on what I've read here. If it's a half inch taller, I'll start scouring the auction sites for a used one myself! -

Does Akubra tack the corners of their wide bows and ribbons with small stitches? Even if they did, I can't imagine that any high holes from tacking could not be massaged out of the felt, especially if it were new. I replaced the ribbon and bow on my Adventurer some years ago, but I don't...
