Super fast shipper, the Stetson was here this morning. It is an amazing velour finish - best I've ever handled. It dry creased easily, and is in near-mint condition. I'm ecstatic.

You are right Oliver. I was actually quite disappointed. One short chapter on hatting, consisting primarily of profile photos of hatters. It was interesting, but I had expected much more.
Well, I guess this is as good a place as I can find to post this tidbit I found about "shantung" in a 1956 dry cleaning book:

I like the contrast a lot. The hatband looks best to me in the last photo, where it seems to contrast just enough from the brim to make a good transition.
Mr. Fawcett does have an an eye for choosing color combinations.
