Interesting article. It talks about Milan in general being made from wheat straw. It then goes on to talk about Optimo's "genuine Milan hats" and their harvesting practices. So it certainly implies that Optimo is using wheat straw.

It is understandable. It is very hard to get a true feel for something just by looking at pictures. It's very different to wear an article of clothing and get a feel for it than to just look at it...
Yes and no. I didn't do anything to "reshape" it. I left it just like this. But the hat is 100% functional and sound. I like the beaten look. This is my camping, canoeing, hiking hat.
