The base price is $450. That is for a 2 compartment case. I added the external pocket and the custom sized internal pockets for my notebook and checkbook. That brought the total to $550.
Great boots, Whacky! You made good choices on your options and have yourself a very versatile boot that I'm sure you will enjoy.
I agree with your comments about break-in, or lack thereof. I was thinking about that exact point yesterday. My Chippewa and Doc Marten boots were murder to break...
My Chippewas are made too well. I really, really love the look of broken in engineer boots, but not so much the look of new ones. Mine are a year old and they still look too good!
Thanks for the kind comments, gentlemen.
I think that as they break in I will become more comfortable with the double row. I bet they'll pick up some grime and patina and won't need polish to darken them.
I bought some round leather laces from: http://shoelacesexpress.com/leatherround.asp

Whacky, did you get yours yet?
I got my boots today. I ordered them through Baker's Boots on Thursday 1/20 and they shipped on Thursday 2/17 - 4 weeks to the day!
Here are the details:

I found the particular listing on Baker's site that shows the different colors of Water Buffalo: http://www.bakershoe.com/boots-shoes.cfm/brand/whites-boots/product/whites-semi-dress-with-water-buffalo-leather/
There is a woeful lack of information/quality photos when it comes to viewing all of the color/leather combos. I used the Baker Shoe website to help. At the time they had pictures of boots made in all of the water buffalo, but I don't see it at the moment. I also bought my boots through Baker...
There must be 50 or so leather/color combos. I had a very hard time deciding one which color and leather. I decided to go with water buffalo simply because it's a bit different than the usual cow leather that most shoes are made of. Although I must say french calf is a very attractive choice...
Highanddry - that is a great looking jacket! It fits you perfectly.
Horsehide - we'd love to see some pictures. You need to upload your pictures to something like photobucket, smugmug, picasa web, etc. Then when you are posting, click the little icon that says "insert image" and enter...
