In case anyone was wondering why I wore them from June until October and then seemed to stop, I had shoulder surgery on Oct 14. Yesterday was the first day I was able to tie my own shoes again! I was happy to tie on my Whites again.
I gave them a heavy coat of Obenauf's LP when they were...
This is very true. My brim on my porkpie has an asymetrical swoop to it that Art swears was not intentional. But when I first snapped the brim it just fell into place.
Not a problem :) I wore mine nearly every day from June-October, so they are getting broken in. I had been thinking of taking some recent pics for you guys. I will work on it over the weekend..
I have the water buffalo. It is a thinner leather, that is why it must be lined. However thickness is not directly correlated with strength in leather. Kangaroo is very thin yet very strong. For that reason it is used for the palms of motorcycle gloves.
The buffalo does take on wrinkles and...
1. Sounds like they just need more breaking in. Go for a long walk.
2. I personally wouldn't want 2 boots of the same leather. Go for an oxblood. I am sure they have an oxblood in something other than buffalo.

I agree. Check out this interesting blog. In particular look at the pair of belts pictured - new vs. 5 years.

I think the size looks great. I am sure it is just something you need to adjust to. Strangely I switch between browlines and super light, space age, german designed, next-to-nothing frames. I switch every 2 or 3 days depending on my mood. They couldn't be more different. Yet the change...
Such a shame hatco. Whether this is actually true or not, this is how the "enthusiast" community will interpret a failure to produce this hat. But I don't think they really even care if we think that. Our opinion does not financially impact them. If it did, they'd get this thing made.

What movie? Oh Brother Where Art Thou? I hope that isn't the case. In the movie the product is Dapper Dan and it is in an orange tin. I don't see how he is riding off them at all.
