Here's a picture of my latest acquisition: A deep brown Richman Brothers in 7 3/8 Purchase price? A whole $4.28 including tax! Picked it up at the local Goodwill store. It's in fairly good shape and looked really good after a brushing. -

Saturday I stopped into a bookstore and the young (to me) cashier told me that my grey Akubra Stylemaster was "dashing." I thanked her and walked out with a smile on my face! -

Been a while: trying to decide between Cabela's Stetson and Borsalino Casual Crusher
The Stetson is a nice hat. I own several modern Stetsons and a few Akubra's as well. For me, the main difference is that when there's the possibility of bad weather, I reach for an Akubra. Too many horror stories about Stetson's spotting in even light rain for me to be comfortable wearing it... -

Not to defend Hatco, but they did try an open crowned hat in the Nostalgia. How many of us stepped up and bought one? And yes I'm as guilty as anyone. Liked the hat, wanted to buy one, but kept finding other things to waste my money on (junk like food and house payments - what a waste!)... -
