Need hat advice
While I'm a great believer in buying a wool hat first to see if you like wearing hats at all, I definitely wouldn't spend $139 for one. There are many fur hats on ebay for far less. Just look for one that is shaped like the woolie you liked and go for it. -

Latest on the Final Federation. Strange how you can be out shoveling snow off the sidewalk and still get rained on. Even stranger is how taking an indoor pic of the tawny fawn color always seems to turn out grey. -

I also have one of each. For me the Deluxe is nice but quite a bit stiffer. The felt is better and you can tell that right off, but the sweatband felt less conforming and it took awhile to warm up to it. The standard Imperial grade felt is soft and it seems in no time that it's buttery soft... -

Another day of rain and luckily I had my new Fed IV on and as usual the Akubra just laughed it off! I don't necessarily like being out in the rain, but with a good hat on your head I do get a smile from the noise the rain makes on it. Weird how the tawny color looks grey with the water... -
