    What classfies a typical 20s, 30's,40s, and 50s face?

In some books, the look of the 40's, women seemed to wear more make-up than modern days. Maybe it's just where you live, but around here, make-up looks very natural (or a lot of times it's just none at all!). I see a lot of eye shadow colors too that I don't see too often anymore, like the...

    What classfies a typical 20s, 30's,40s, and 50s face?

there's a great book that I just recently came across called 'vanity rules'. This book goes back into colonial times all up until modern. This is one of the few books that makes everything VERY interesting..it incorporates history and even tells how some of the commonly used words we used...

    Novels and Movies

To Kill a Mockingbird; Both book and movie was great. In school it was actually required reading, not sure if it's still the case today[huh] The english teacher I had growing up would have us read a novel then we would see the movie of it (if there was one)...I think that's why to this day, I...

    How popular was/is your name?

Caroline; beautiful woman:D I guess my name was more popular than I thought it was! Growing up, besides princess Caroline, NO ONE had the same name as me...just a whole bunch of sarah's, becky's and jill's:)

    Before the big hair plunge...

lol You're not the only one with that difficulty! I swear, you put soft brown and dark brown together, and there is no difference! If your going with a store brand, clairol has been a product that I've had the best success with...it's the only one that has left my hair feeling soft after coloring.

    Before the big hair plunge...

If there's a Sally Beauty Supply store out where you live, I highly recommend checking that place out. They have salon quality hair products, that work by far better than those you get at the store. Also, usually there's someone who works there who actually knows what they're talking about to...

Makeup Ad from the 40's! Check out the eyebrows!

It's also a good idea, if you're not comfortable with tweezing your eyebrows (especially when it comes to reshaping them!) to go to a professional. my eyebrows are totaly reshaped from how they used to be...they were straight and big...at first I over plucked (which of course doesn't look good)...

    Before the big hair plunge...

lol Now that's classic style! I'm all for the hair dyes that wash out. This is one thing that I learned about this whole business of hair coloring; the color on the box isn't necessarily the color your going to get...best to know that it'll be going away soon if it is a disaster!

    Mineral Make-UP

Not so Dottie! I use a mild exfoliating soap daily. It's great because it's gentle to the skin but also even after one use, it leaves my skin feeling noticably softer, thus, helping the make-up go on smoother. Also, ever since I turned 30, my skin has gone through some changes. I had to really...

How to do It: Stiff Starch Grandma's Way

    Mineral Make-UP

What I find works well is first putting the moisturizer on your face and then put on the mineral make-up. Max Factor pan-cake make-up; I saw this at the store and noticed that the main ingredient is talc. Now, this stuff is still considered mineral make-up right? and is talc ok for sensitive skin?

    Perfect foundation/face powder

I also highly recommed using a gentle exfoliating cleanser. I use proactive solution cleanser and find that it works really great. It also sounds like your skin may be sensitive, I would start with using an oil free moisturizer. I've had great success with Mary Kay brand. t-zones, these can...

    Vintage Turning Point

I grew up watching classics, always thought the men and women looked absolutely incredible, but never really thought it was a 'real life' sort of thing since everyone I knew growing up (and even now) seem to have a wardrobe consisting only of jeans- t-shirts/sweaters and jogging suits. I met MK...

    That Finishing Touch

Net stockings ok, maybe they're not considered a 'finishing touch' but they do make wearing a skirt or a dress look good....point is, wearing some today with my skirt and DANG! the dirty looks I'm getting! I don't even look close to looking like a hooker!:p

I guess there's some good in being 'eccentric'

Believe me, I would have LOVED to have been there, but YOU probably wouldn't of been too happy with it! - I came down with the stomach flu, so it was me and the couch for that whole week:(
