Since the picture is missing, the lack of a pocket square doesn't bother me. lol

    Movies And Their Profanity

Maybe not unacceptable, but perhaps passe. Who knows? I catch myself using the standard two words, and I fear it's becoming a habit. Gotta use some different words. Maybe some German stuff, or maybe French? Pardon my French.

    I blame whole wheat

I went grocery shopping this evening (trying to beat the heat, no dice, it's 80 degrees at 11PM) and couldn't resist buying one loaf of Wonder Bread, some Skippy creamy peanut butter and some Smucker's strawberry jam. I haven't had Wonder Bread (voluntarily, at least) for well over 30 years...

Have you flown in a vintage aeroplane?

She's a beauty! I've been up in a DC-3 operated by the FAA back in the 1970s when I was a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. I also took a ride in a deHavilland Beaver and flew a Stinson L-5. The Beaver was quite a ride, sitting right behind that big round engine!

Please don't remind me. lol

Info on ebay Borsalino I won for $20.50?

Not sure it is tiny, though. Looks like it was first sold in Italy, so the size on the tag might be the old French sizing wherein 6-1/2 translates to an American 7-3/8. The pic is too fuzzy for me to be sure, though.

Sure, but it's getting kind of late for you non-vampires, isn't it?

    In Pasadena / Los Angeles

The 1977 central air conditioner here in the postwar stucco-box I'm sharing seems to be working fine, thank goodness.

    In Pasadena / Los Angeles

I figured you'd spontaneously combust down here today! The high here in Tarzana was 108. I'm fairly used to it but I sure wasn't enjoying it.

    And their machine is broken.

    An Amazing Coincidence Today

There should be an FL bylaw that Loungers can't go to Los Angeles without letting us local denizens know. :D

Hats and Privacy Vs Public Security

I was idly looking at some stuff in a display case at a jewellers' in a mall when the saleslady asked if she could help me. I didn't notice her for a while, I was wearing a fedora and my head was down, so she was basically talking to my hat. Talk to the hat, pal. lol Notice also that the...

The end of TIME (no...not the magazine)

Here's a link to the (unofficial) Bell System Memorial page about Jane Barbe and all those recorded phone company messages: http://www.porticus.org/bell/recordedannouncements.html (Hey, by the way, whatever happened to "This is a recording."? I guess everybody knows by now that there...

    suspenders

Perhaps. "Ace in the Hole" was filmed on location in New Mexico, using lots of local extras, so maybe the costumer picked up the local style.

    suspenders

If you get TCM, watch their schedule to see when they'll play "Ace in the Hole" again. Kirk Douglas stars, and he wears belt and suspenders throughout the movie, as do several other cast members. Quite an interesting movie as well, still valid and perhaps moreso today than in 1951...

    Bread boxes?

Sorry, that was another one of my "pop culture references" that you have to be 40+ to recognize. I honestly forget sometimes just how long ago the 1960s and 70s were. :D Anyhow, way back when, there was a game show on TV (yes, we had TV, but you changed channels with a dial that...
