I just picked up a Mariln 39M from 1960. Got is from the estate of a WWII flying ace that retired as a Brig General. Came with an old leather shoulder strap too. I shoot targets in my yard with my son using the new CCI quiet rounds. Less noise than an air gun. Really fun little 22 rifle.
Recently purchased a bottle of the Bulliet rye, it didn't last very long. Tasted much smoother than Bourbon. I think that I am a big fan...any advice on other brands?

I will never buy anything again made in china period I dont care how cheap/good it is...purchased a few things in the last year or two just for backpacking, because they cornered the market and I really regret it. Buy USA or at least allies of the USA. We need the jobs. Enjoy.
I like 8" SJs and 6" BHs...the xtra 2" makes a big difference when lacing them up. Much more easy with the 6, but much more "tied in" to the boot at 8...depends on what you want.
Does anyone know anything about the brand from the 70's? I was at the Rose Bowl flea market and they had a few really nice ones, just not in my size. The quality seemed pretty high...thx.
