Lovely Long Hair Borso Auction
I hope you all can forgive me dropping in after a long absence to shamelessly plug an auction. I also hope this is an appropriate place to do so.
I'm selling an extraordinary vintage Borsalino. It was referenced in this thread when I bought it earlier this...
My Hat
The hat I'm wearing is a nice Borsalino from the early '60s. I travel with it a lot, because it's very packable.
My anonymous friend was much better-dressed than I. It was loud, but I think I detected an accent... British? He seemed delighted to meet another guy all decked out. He...
I was walking through the Gaslamp district of San Diego the Saturday evening of Comicon when I spotted this gentleman sitting at an outdoor table at some kind of restaurant/bar. I forget who called out to who, but we ended up having our picture taken together.
I didn't ask that night, but...
Badger
Just added a badger brush to my shaving tools. At first I had a cheap brush I got in a kit. I was shocked by what a difference it makes. Much more lather and foam. Well worth the investment.
My sample is running low, though. I'm gonna have to resort to Art of Shaving products...
Dunk?
A dunk in cool water helps loosen up Akubras. Not sure about modern Stetsons. It would certainly give you a chance to conform it to your head as it dries.

Yeah, I would never chance anything safety-related for my kids. Car seats, cribs, helmets, etc. get better all the time, and you never know if they've been stressed by previous owners.

My Humble Review
I don't know if I can add to the more knowledgeable reviews that have already been posted, but I'll offer what I can.
This shaving cream was a revelation for me! I have used shaving brush and cream products before, but it was a long time ago, and they were nothing like this...
This cracked me up. Check out #17. I agree, by the way. The rest of you should really knock it off!

Less Guilty
I want to sincerely thank all my Fedora Lounge pals for easing my mind after dropping all that loot on the vintage fuzzy Borsalino. I knew I could count on you!

Mine!
That would be me. I hope it's as nice as it looks. My favorite hats are vintage Borsalinos, and great ones don't show up in my size very often. That price was tough to pay, but I found a way to rationalize it! I offered less, and the seller came back with this counter offer. He...
New Stetson Panama
Made a trip to the St. Joseph Stetson Outlet store yesterday. They were busy! There was a good selection of straw fedoras, along with a limited number of felts. I was tempted by a lovely 100% beaver felt in 7 1/2 for $100, but ended up with two straws.
This is the...
Great!
Just wanted to publicly thank Tom-n-Perris for making this hat available and for getting it to me quickly and in good shape. It's a wonderful hat. I've been looking for a light weight like this for a long time. I'll post pics in the hat forum soon.
What a great place this Fedora...
Nailing Down a Size
I like asking buyers to measure the hat's opening from front to back and side to side. It's less work for them than circumference, often more accurate, and gives you some idea of the oval shape, as well.

100
I would have driven that 100 higher had I not just bought my OR. Couldn't justify that much budget-busting. I was also a little worried about size and seller, but it'll probably work out fine for the buyer.
And, I hate the "Would you consider changing to a Buy It Now?" tactic. Bush...
