Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

Block Bilt half belt, like the one Marc fixed up for only $170 USD. Unfortunately, the leather on the sleeves is rough and the stitching on the shoulder is falling apart. Very cool jacket though...

Too bad the collar looks a bit chewed up. Nice patina on that one. Great jacket for someone named "Bill"

Beautiful jacket that was unfortunately cut into a vest . Hey, if you're looking for a neat vest though, this certainly is a cool one. https://jp.mercari.com/item/m71026689083

I would also say that a leather cap is likely to be a lot less effective than a helmet. Early helmets were essentially a leather swim cap. The early protective gear for riding was definitely interesting but I love the craftsmanship that went into some of these designs.

This is a cool one on eBay. Not a deal, but interesting find. Kit karson jacket with full 50s motorcycle gear allegedly found in a service station in Indiana...

That contrast stitching on the upper is real purdy. Love the detail on back of the boot.

Footwear to go with our jackets

Size-wise, I got the Attractions a half size larger than the Flathead boots. For reference, I wear a size 7 (U.S.) in Iron Rangers, 7.5 in Converse Chuck Taylor's, and wear the Flathead in 7 and the Attractions in 7.5. The Flathead is chromexcel which is much more supple than the Attractions...

    Vanson c2 - 42 - fit check

Yep, the fit looks great. Any jacket I have that had a belt is typically belted to one of the smallest belt holes. Just a benefit of not having much of a gut

Footwear to go with our jackets

Picked up a pair of Attractions Lot 444 horsebide engineers boots recently. Here are some shots I took alongside my pair of Flathead engineer boots, which have a slightly shorter shaft, that I've owned for about 4 years.

    Eastman Roadstar Crosszip

I like the pulls on the front of the jacket but the sleeve pulls were driving me nuts and were removed after about 15 minutes in the jacket.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

New ELMC Roadstar. Forgive the crappy mirror photo with the tags still attached.

    Eastman Roadstar Crosszip

For those of you who own this jacket, or others with leather pulls on the sleeve zippers, what are your thoughts on them? My initial instinct is that they are annoying and I want to remove them but they certainly make zipping the sleeves nicer. Should I give them a chance and see if I warm to them?

    Eastman Roadstar Crosszip

They certainly have terrific customer service but it is surprising their measurements are so far off. Maybe the folks that are more likely to work in a retail store tend to be people less experienced with online shopping because they tend to have access to retail locations. It's also...

    Eastman Roadstar Crosszip

So I just grabbed one of these during Standard and Strange's recent sale. I also got a size 40 and agree that their measurements are very inaccurate. Here are my measurements for sz 40: P2P: 22" Front length: 24.75" Back length: 24.25" Shoulders: 18.25" Sleeve (measures around the curve)...
