Wearing the Grey Stetson 25 again this rainy day. No headshot. Joao, here are the two Champ Featherweights, side by side, with the light blue on the right and grey on the left.
I'd been wanting to do a gunmetal ribbon on black felt for some time, thinking that it was a good contrast. Happily, Harv liked the idea!
Harv, it's good to see you wearing it, and the shirt is a nice choice. Need a face shot sometime...
Quote malfunctioned.
Joao, it is actually a sky or baby blue. You can see it better in the second photo.
I have a grey one too, and the difference can be subtle depending on the lighting.
I really do love that deep brown Nutria Quality hat. It is by far the favorite western I own.

I love the song too. I don't usually go in for disco type music, but WAR has a more funkadelic sound, to me.

This one is a great hat. I'm tempted to put a campaign crease or a small front dent in it and wear it like a "sombrerito." It reminds me of the hats Cisco & Pancho wore in the Cisco Kid shows I watched as a child.
Esther,
The hand biting thing is an old physical comedy bit. Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, John Ritter, and Jim Carey have all done it in films or television (in Lewis' case - on the old Martin & Lewis TV show), but I could not find one image or video clip.
It's great to have you here. I wish we had...
Joao, here's that Beaver 100. I don't think it will have enough brim for you. It's 3.5 with the curl included and is only a 7 1/8, so would lose maybe 1/4 inch. It's a nice soft felt, but does have some light moth tracking. I think I'll put a different band on it and keep it.
No, I think it was just too abstract a reference. The image in my mind was of Jerry Lewis or Jim Carrey biting their own hand on seeing a pretty girl. I looked but couldn't find a photo or video. It would be something akin to this:

My hat...
I may have posted this electric curling shackle once before, but think not, because it was buried. There is no branding I can find.
On second thought, I seem to vaguely recall Oliver (Hatter4) saying it was offered in a HSH catalogue.
2015 Stetson Excellent Quality GREEN THIN RIBBON (Preview & Review)
Curious whether the attribution error with multi-quote is a Tapatalk issue or FL issue. It seems rampant in recent days and can be confusing. Any thoughts?
My full-crown stretchers
Domke & Ulme
Garvé
The Hatters Supply House
Love the Art Deco styling on the THSH stretcher!
Two came with this handy little tool:
I have not plugged any in yet. The Garvé has this ancient attachment, and no cord.
Esther, I have seen different styles in this country - similar but made of metal throughout. Please let me know how it works. Probably good if it is sharp.
Here's a vintage Osborne of the type I've seen, found just now on eBay:
Joao, I understand now, and I do get it. I have a couple of 1970's westerns that I just don't have the heart to change up because as gaudy as they are, they are very representative of the time.
I don't have the heavy feather-adorned model (think Richard Petty), but that would be another...
