I wouldn't go as far as to saying people are clueless. In comparison, it seems like only a very minute number of people tend to toss out the reference to Indiana Jones. Other than that, most just keep to themselves. Indy is well known and it's not his fault or anybody's fault.
Fedora or not...
Well, what do you wear with the hat? Wearing khaki pants and a button down shirt will go with the hat. I'm the same age as you, and trust me on this. Wearing khakis and a button down shirt gets really comfortable after a while, even with the hat.
So that makes it a +2 on the hat's shaping? Haha. I've read about the brim having little to no curl. Though the price at the moment is a little to high. As of now, I believe it's $116.44 when I last checked. It's been slowly going down from the $123 it was a few months ago. If it goes back down...
I am grateful for your help. Now all that needs to be in place is the price of the FedIV to go down a little bit more and I should be in a better position to pull the trigger.
This is all the more reassuring.
Also (I hate to smother you with questions, sorry!) how is the felt itself when it comes to shaping the hat? Is it like clay or is it going to take the power of the Lost Ark to get it to stay?
I must graciously thank you for boosting my confidence in these fine hats. Especially the brown one. Gorgeous. It looks to have a pretty good contrast with the body. Stock bow, yes?
Yet Another Thread on the Federation IV, but with a twist.
Okay, so the set up is this:
I'm just looking around and doing research on hats. Currently looking at the Akubra FedIV in dark brown and moonstone grey. My plans after than is just a center dent bash with the "Raiders" turn or 4...
Yes and no. While my parents are somewhat supportive of my choice of attire, the only dissaproval that I run into is the pricing of the hats. Anything over $40, my dad gets a little hesitant. $100 or more (since Akubra FedIV is now that price) and it's a no. Go custom for $375 on a Penman...
How extreme are we talking? Some have a natural tilt of the hat. If you're ending up uncomfortable on your ear, then the best advice most will give is just don't do it if it's bothering you.
That possibility hadn't crossed my mind. I see the occasional hat around town on white folk. Seems to be a panama type of hat, ball cap or flat cap every time. Your observation is quite plausible and odd to think about. Thinking about it now, it's just odd. Good eye, brother.
I've yet to watch...
