Here are a couple more photos with a VS "dove" hat, with and without flash.
If I had to describe the the Ivory color, I'd say it was a very, very light butter color, definately a bit of yellow in there, though very light. The silvermist has more of a blue tint and the silverbelly is more...
Hello Landman,
I've been following your posts and I would've posted some pics earlier but my family and I are in the process of moving house, to a town 320 miles south of where we were and we've been driving back and forth, keeping some stuff in storage, putting other stuff in the in-laws'...
Glad to hear it RJR! I hope the hat meets with your expectations. I was sorry to give it up, but I'd never have worn it. The quality is fantastic; I wish Akubra would make a hat more along the lines of a Stratoliner.
I'm moving house in a few weeks and I have realized that I've got too many hats! So, I'll be putting a few of them up for sale here.
First is a Campdraft deluxe, new and unworn, it was re-flanged on a long-oval flange by a parisian hatter for me so it is now a long oval. This is the higher...
I just received this beautiful VS lightweight in silverbelly. It's difficult to see, but this hat has the air vents in the sides. We'll see if it makes much difference in really hot weather. It has a 2 1/2" brim and is unlined.
Thanks for this fanatastic hat, Art!
The king of the slim brims is back!
What's the brim on that one; 2 1/8"? Great hat, love the ribbon color, dark but not quite black. Plus wind trolley!
Hatophile, your long hair hat is great! The color, texture, and proportions are perfect together.
Eric, that sage green suits you well. I'm honored that my hat sold you on the color! I think the silvery ribbon is just fantastic with the sage felt.
That hat is great, Landman! I've thought about having Art use those vent holes, too.
Here are a couple of noggin shots of my new VS, front and side:
Merry Christmas!
Thanks, guys! I'll post pics of it on the old bean tomorrow. Art has really outdone himself on this one; I can't express just how happy I am with it. If anyone gets some extra Christmas cash, I encourage you to go for a black-cherry light. (sounds like a drink!)
Thanks, Landman!
The ribbon is not quite as light as it looks in the photos; it's more of a deep burgundy compared to the almost-black felt. It really is striking in person, without being flashy.
