I just picked up this made in England "Thornproof" Tweed with a half belt. I got it from an Etsy store that has a great selection and fantastic service. It shipped out really fast. I can't praise this Etsy store enough. I had great communication with the owner who said that if the jacket...
Here are two. The felt on this Stetson is unlike any I've had before. It is amazingly soft and pliable. I doubt there is any stiffener in it. It there is, it isn't much.
This pic is a little fuzzy but it's readable.

I was surprised to find these two at ST. Vinnies. Blue striped one is vintage the other one is a newer Lands End. For $1.75 each I couldn't go wrong.

Here's a real beauty I found at St. Vinnies in the Halloween pile. I think t's a Stetson Traveler. I had to really shell out some money for it. $1.80
HOWEVER, with a little TLC once I got it home.
This is a super soft and floppy felt. Very similar to a vintage borsalino and with a...
I just found this style of Filson at Goodwill for $18.00 and it's my size. Although this pic isn't my jacket, my jacket is an exact duplicate. This one was on ebay and is a lot better picture than I could take of mine. This style has a lot number of 95, does anyone know how to find out the...
A friend of mine bought a leather A-2 from them a few years ago. After he got and we looked at it, we both agreed it was crap, he sent it back. Echoing what others have already said-too much money for what you get. I like some of their other stuff though, just not their leather jackets...
What a great article!! I'm glad the new location is working out and I know Dave is a great guy to apprentice. He's very meticulous about everything and will work out great. Congrats Art.

Which store was it if you don't mind saying? I'm in Eugene and we go to Portland now and then to go to vintage shops. This sounds like one I'd like to visit.

He's getting too good. I used to be able to take a hat over to him for some work and get it back in a week or 2, now I have to wait months. But I'm happy he's getting the orders, it means he'll stay in business and I'll have a local hatter to go to, even if I have to wait. He is waiting on...
Did you see this one?

Not really soaked, but misted heavily on both sides then wiped clean with a soft cloth and then worked by hand to get out the wrinkles. It wasn't wet enough for water to drip water off of it.

I posted these pics in the Ties thread but thought it would be good to re-post them here. This is a tie that someone was too lazy to untie and hence the wrinkles from it staying tied for who knows how many years were really set in it. By wetting it and working on the wrinkles by hand, and yes...
I found these two at St. Vinnies today. The narrow one is a vintage Beau Brummel, the wider one is a newer Ralph Lauren Polo. $1.80 each. Both in great shape. The pic isn't the greatest. They look better in person.

I picked up this tie today at St. Vinnies for $1.80. As you can see it was in bad shape. After I worked a little mojo on it it came out pretty decent.
I also found 2 bow ties, one vintage and one fairly new for the same $1.80 each. They are in the bow tie thread.

I've seen duplicates of this tie in blue and red. It may have been fairly popular as I have seen quite a few like it. I purchased these two brown polka dot ones too but as you can see they are a different style than the red one.
