Wow James I just sold a NOS 7 5/8 size thin ribbon Champ that had the large $9.95 price tag inside and what a amazing light gray silverbelly! I may have another to sell if I have a leather sweatband replaced in it...it is spotless other than the leather took a short dive off a tall cliff....lol!

Now have to ask.....Distino Ties made in Australia...any thing you know about them? I will put the question out to the main stream "down under" loungers but wanted to ask here first! Any reviews would be highly appreciated as I am eye balling a few ties made by them for Daniel. Thanks also...(tell all those elves I said hello as well)...lol!

Perhaps someone else can chime in but I haven't seen any Distino of Melbourne gear actually in Melbourne.

I'll have a look in the department stores downtown today.

I'm 7 3/8 long oval. If I had a smaller head, I'd definitely have a larger hat collection. I've seen plenty of nice hats on eBay below my size.

Thanks, it does look very formal with a white shirt and a dark charcoal grey suit. It's one of my favorites in the collection. I'm going to see if I could acquire more 1900s and 1910s ties, in the near future. They seem to be extremely difficult to find on eBay, and so are 1920s ties. Excluding the cravats and bow ties, I wonder how difficult it is to find a Victorian long tie at this point? Has anyone ever found one, here?

One-third of my tie collection (about twenty) are three-fold ties from WWII and earlier (strangely, all found near my area, with a few from the "Boxed Thirty", when I bought a box of 30+ ties (not the "Goodwill Thirty") at a South Bend flea market (half of which, unfortunately, were 1970s ties, but those were not as bad compared to average 1970s ties; those are the days when the "Tie Gods" are beyond generous), and I think I many have a few pre-1930s ties, one of which is DEFINITELY a 1920s or even an Edwardian tie. I'll upload pictures of them at a later time (I have a LOT of uploading to do).

My question is if somebody has found an actual bow-TIE from that era.

Thank you, I see some nice looking ties by this company being offered by a seller on eBay so I wanted to know it these are just cheap skate ties or worth purchasing.

OH yes...I am LOOKING for some skinny ties......(TIES) More than one.....a few would do......for a 1950's three button sharkskin 3 button skinny label suit that Daniel has.....it is a silver grey suit.....

Half-price day at the D.A.V. thrift resulted in this Regal Cravat for 85-cents. This tag is different from most I've seen. Any idea on date?

Thanks,

Bob

My search turned up a blank - apols. I didn't find their gear in downtown Melbourne. I'm assuming thier sales channel is internet only - not sure what that says about thier quality. I'd assume Guanzhou Province quality but I may be mistaken.

I picked up this tie today at St. Vinnies for $1.80. As you can see it was in bad shape. After I worked a little mojo on it it came out pretty decent.

I also found 2 bow ties, one vintage and one fairly new for the same $1.80 each. They are in the bow tie thread.
