Resurrecting this thread to ask if any SD owners have ever switched out their standard ('cuban') heel for a block heel, and if so, who you had do the work.
I'm a long term SD wearer (and lover) and have the SD in a variety of leathers, but all in the standard heel. I'd like to get a a block...
Whoa, I didn't know they offered those 1939 boots with the nailed down soles in black. I've only seen the brown 'British Tan' version offered by Standard and Strange. Both nice looking boots. I still don't love the way the tag is sewn to the outside of the shaft but whatever.
Has anyone who...
Oh man, haha, sorry.
The 633 is my favorite IH cut. I already own and wear two other pairs of the 633. I find the cut very forgiving and can wear with comfort either a 32 or a 33. I hope your pair works out for you - they're nice slim (but NOT skinny) jeans that pair well with leather jackets.

Are those White's above the standard Nomad in brn cxl? The look nice.
I'm curious what last White's made those on. My White's SD boots are my most comfortable shoes and would love to get a similar fit in an engineer boot.
I hadn't seen that horsehide Indigofera until just now. It's really nice, and the closest thing I've seen to this Johnson Leathers piece. The pockets are remarkably similar. The Indigofera looks slightly more cropped in overall length than the JL which works better for my build. I like it...
Agree. The jacket looks great when paired with outfits with a workwear vibe, esp since it fits and wears similar to a modern (slightly slimmed down) chore coat. As Edward mentions, you can see some kinship to a trucker with the pockets and the sleeve cuffs.
It's a style I would like to see more...
