I like the Luftwaffe's Blohm and Voss BV238. The biggest flying boat of WW2!
They built a prototype - unfortunately, when it was moored at a lake, it was discovered by a bunch of USAAF P-51s - and they strafed it until it sank! I know, it was German and there was a war on and it was an...

Yes, I agree with you that the light source would make a difference, maybe they used a special light source to make that jacket look like it has been worn for a longtime and show the right colour.[/QUOTE]
Hmmm. Still not convincing you ....
As talented as I know ELC...
This is a great photo, here!
Y'know, I don't know about you blokes here, but I'm becoming increasingly aware that time's marching on (am now 46 ... as daft as it looks to me to see that written down) and I'm well aware that these jackets were primarily designed for, and worn by, young guys ...
Funnily enough, I had my ANJ-3 on this very morning for my commute - it's cooled down at last and just enough - so it came out of the closet (so to speak!). Marvellous. Sooo nice to have it on again! :)
And to your question Joel, no, absolutely not and never. You'll only enjoy the underarm...
Hi Alec,
As Brettafett rightly points out, I too have learned that what you get (colour-wise) from ELC is sometimes different than shown on the website.
If you look again at some of the cotton and nylon jackets on there, they appear a great khaki/tan colour - but the write-up describes them...
Oh, we have lots of funny people up here, Worf ! We have three levels of government (local, provincial and federal) - each one as hilarious as the other (in a Gong Show kind of way). Comedians all.
Funnily enough though, nobody's laughing ... except them.
Have a good weekend, all.
Well, we're all here to help, right? Glad to know you liked. Makes me feel it was worthwhile to make myself late for work this morning in trying to figure out the self-timer on my new camera ...! ;-)
All the best, now ...!
My hearty congratulations on the impending nuptuals, my friend.
As such, instead of jacket advice, for a change, may I impart my own personal advice on maintaining a successful and lasting relationship?
Since I moved in with my girlfriend some 5 years ago, I've found this item to be a most...
I'm still yet to show my new (old version) ELC B-6 that's had new zips added (RiRi to Crowns) by ELC. I took photos of the jacket last week and am waiting until it gets cool enough to actually wear it to work for a few snaps of me wearing it - figured people would want to see the fit as they...
Oh no, Edward, not me. I don't know about you blokes here, but I don't have a car of my own (I share one with my girlfriend) or holiday every year (haven't had a proper one for 4 years). I don't even have a big wardrobe - but I've got a nice home and meet all my obligations with bills and taxes...
Just taken some photos of two of my best pairs of A-10s for you all to "compare and contrast" as they used to say at school!
The darker pair are my old favourites by ELC, bought around 1996 or so. They're so comfy (they fit me, well, like a glove!) and have aged so beautifully and sometimes...
Many thanks for letting me know, Ian. That's really good to know!
See?! That's why this lounge is great ...! You've just saved me time and money right there.
Looks like another pair of Buzz Ricksons (in a larger size) for me, then ... :)
Well there you have it, you see; lots of locals all wearing a similar weight and style of jacket - because everyone has learned from bitter (forgive the pun!) experience ...
I know I mentioned the B-6 earlier, Darrin, and I think it's a great design and has a great look too; but thinking more...
Hmmm.
That depends - on what kind of jacket we're talking (B-6 V ANJ-4 for example) and wind-chills on the day, which makes all the difference, as you know.
But generally speaking, and in my experience, if you're just wearing a t-shirt or cotton business shirt beneath a B-6/B-10, I think you'd...
It's the Yen that makes Japanese products expensive (so Gary once told me). If memory serves, I paid 70 quid for mine about 8 years ago - which was a lot at the time, I agree, but I think I can say I've had my money's worth ... and they're still going and I love them the most of the 3 pairs I...
Buzz Ricksons make one of their A-10s in a "natural camel" finish - which, because they're not standard USAAF spec., don't have the USAAF decal.
These darken beautifully with age, wear, weather and conditioning.

Welcome to the Funny Farm, Darrin!
Good point Aswatland. Darrin mentioned 3 "civilian"" type jackets, which aren't my bag so much so I wasn't going to chime in, but as you mention a B-10(and that's a fine choice with the 1/4" sheepskin fleece), I would also suggest a B-6 - or even a Luftwaffe...
