Well, I see you're in Philly. There are several hat shops in town. Since giving us a photo isn't possible visit them (if you haven't already). Try on similar styles to see how they look.
As for the models you named, and your question...
I think Borsalinos are overpriced for what you...
Well, I'm in the market for a tweed jacket, and it ain't easy finding one in my size without looking in some expensive places. A 50 regular fits me fairly well, as long as it's not a trim-fit sort of thing that gets narrower around the stomach. I'd prefer colors in the brown/olive/russet...
I have moved my jacket to Ebay. Here's a link for anyone interested.

I think Hatsdirect will cover the shipping and exchange the hat. While the hat can certainly take the abuse, you didn't pay for a pre-crushed hat, and I'm sure hatsdirect is well aware of this sort of thing happening from time to time.
You know, it occurs to me that, while we often discuss the relative pros and cons of black hats, I can't find any threads that are really a show-case for them. So, in the spirit of other hat-type societies on the lounge, I invite you to join the The Black Hat Brigade!

I'm considering it, but my CD player may need replacing if it can't be fixed. If I can avoid that expense, I'll be dropping you a PM next week. (But don't hold it just for me, by any means).
In my experience, once a bleeder - always a bleeder. [huh] I'm not saying that all the color will come out of the hat. Just that it's going to take a heck of a lot of wetting to reach the point where it doesn't bleed onto your head or hands anymore. Which is what I'd be trying to avoid to...
I probably asked this the last time it was up, but with my memory I could be thinking of a totally different hat.
Do you have the actual measurement of the sweatband? Or your head measurement and a description of how it feels on your head?
I said they were the most sought after tweed... which is relative to the demand of tweed in the first place.
Got any size 50's looking for a new home? :D
I just received news that Hatpeople are going to attempt making a cap out of a houndstooth jacket I sent them. The jacket looked dreadful on me and nobody wanted it, even for free. But the wool was so nice and the colors fantastic. I can hardly wait! :fing28:
Now, a different crowd would have probably said something about the field not looking right, huh? lol
I love this shot. I also notice that the hats seem to clash on the dark/light scale mainly with the guys in overcoats, but the guys without seem to have lighter jackets on with their...
I may have to try that on my Hanna. That thing just won't curve!
My favorite caps don't actually have anything but more fabric in the brim, so they do whatever I want, when I want. [huh]
