Thank you so much, John! Special thanks for the wonderful scripture quote you provided. I definitely felt the presence of my grandfather when I wore that jacket as well as at the moment my tire exploded.
Thanks Coffee! Man... you're so right... I forgot to mention how the 95 degree heat intensified the horsehide smell in the jacket.
I also think wearing my horsehide jacket in the high heat has helped to accelerate the breaking in of the jacket.
I would seriously love to come visit Tucson...
Thanks Andy! That's a great idea you mentioned about steering the front wheels to the right... that is something I didn't do.
Have you ever considered writing a book containing all your knowledge of what to do in terms of highway safety? Let me know if you do decide to write a book... I'll...
Congratulations on your daughter's soon-to-be 2nd birthday! :eusa_clap
I will tell you now... for a man there is NOTHING greater in this world than being a husband and a father. The bond between father and daughter is such an amazing one. :)
Beautiful jacket again, my friend. I'm so...
Thanks Andy!! Those are EXCELLENT points you made. Fortunately, my teammate who was behind me when my tire exploded parked behind me when I pulled over to the shoulder of the road. He parked a little further back and had his emergency flashers on too... basically his car was serving the...
Awww... very cute picture! How old is your daughter, Griff?
Beautiful jacket and it fits you so much better than your previous jacket you returned. Do you find that the steerhide was more stiff than the FQHH jacket you have now?
Congrats Griff! This will be your 2nd Aero jacket, right?
Moira made my jacket, which reminds me... I need to call Aero in Scotland... I want to personally thank Amanda, Will, and Moira for the great job they did in making my Aero NYPD jacket. :)
Sorry you lost me... are you saying the hanger I bought is a bargain? I paid around $13.73 including sales tax. How much would a hanger like mine cost in your area?
Haha!!! Thanks, bro. Yeah, my wife said the same exact thing (how nuts I am) when I told her I wore the jacket that day in 95 degree weather, but only during the awards ceremony.
I definitely haven't worn the jacket this week though... with the awful humidity in my area it feels like the...
Pics of the tire damage
The tear in the tire is on the inside of the tire that faces the brakes/suspension
Fortunately the wheel itself escaped undamaged.
You can see the lodged screw
Inside of the tire...
Despite the mismatched wheel/tire in the passenger side rear, the...
Good morning, Gents.
I've been away from the site for the past week now and hopefully my story here will explain not only why, but provide you all with an interesting story. :)
As most of you probably know, one of my passions is customizing cars and for the first time this year I competed...
^^^ Thanks Jan! Sorry I've been away from the site for the past week... I'll be posting a new thread momentarily that will explain my "absence" with hopefully will be a cool story. :)
Just an update... I wound up going to my local "Bed Bath & Beyond" store and purchased a "Euro-sized" wood...
I need to be careful... everytime I see your posts or Jan's posts you both make me want to buy more Aero jackets... my wife would beat me up if I did that, haha!!
Funny thing... when I see the picture of how you want the back of your jacket to look like, that picture looks IDENTICAL to the...
Thanks for the clarification about your cedar hanger... I'll definitely check that place out.
Though I am seriously tempted to get the BIG Ventilator hanger. I measured my Aero jacket and the hanger will definitely fit in it. From what I read on the website the hanger appears to support...
Hmmm... here's a monster of a hanger I found for heavy motorcycle leather jackets (Vanson sells these I believe)...
23" long, 5" wide and can hold up to 100lbs on its ABS plastic body
http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/ventilator-hanger/
Hopefully the 23" length wouldn't be too much for my...
Hey Steve... thanks for the info. Glad to hear that the cedar does nothing to the horsehide coat smell.
Which specific cedar hanger do you use and where did you buy it from?
That's a great point about the pull tab. Do you have pics of the custom pull tabs on your Aero jackets that you can share? That's a fantastic idea by the way, Jan... sehr gut! :D
