Thanks!! I'll be sure and pass your compliment on to my dad who took the picture at his house (he had me intentionally stand at that spot by the wall pictures and Ganesha statue to the left of me). :)
Do you find that the horsehide protects you in the event you fall off the bike (hopefully...
^^^^ Thanks Carlos!
On a separate note, I love the picture below because behind me you can see a picture of my infant daughter... it's almost like she's giving me a look of approval for getting this jacket.
Maybe it's just me but when I wear this jacket I feel like I'm wearing body...
Prior to receiving the Aero I was planning on trying to "speed up" the breaking in process with the unorthodox methods you mentioned, but now that I have the jacket in hand and have experienced horsehide wearing first hand, I must say that I love the "cardboard" feel while wearing the horsehide...
Great to meet you, Carlos. I was sort of close in guessing where you're from... India, Argentina... close enough. :D
I'll have to check out those sites if they have one.
Thanks for the picture, Griff. :)
While we're on the subject of Aero zippers, has anyone here ever considered removing the leather pull tab that's attached to the main zipper? I'm considering doing that for aesthetic reasons.
Hey Coffee!
LOL... I was going to wear the Aero jacket today to work but decided to wear my vintage Irvin Foster leather jacket today out of concerns that it would feel neglected. lol
If you haven't seen my recent Irvin thread definitely check it out... it's finally all restored with new...
Good morning! Great choice of Aero jacket! What's your name? I'm guessing you're possibly of Indian origin since you knew the other spelling of my name. :D
What is The Few? I assume John Chapman is a leather maker as well?

I don't believe I've ever owned a goathide jacket, though I know they're a popular choice for leather jackets in India. Glad you like the scent. :)
Is goathide stronger than horsehide? I know that horsehide is more naturally water resistant compared to cowhide due to the smaller follicles...
Thanks WolfeMan! I was beginning to worry since I saw so many views and no replies, haha!
The only complaint I have about the jacket now is the people who stitched my Irvin Foster tag onto the new lining unfortunately stitched it on a bit crookedly so that it's not perfectly horizontal...
I don't think I've ever seen the Aero zippers with antique finish... could someone here post a picture of it?
I agree with Mr. H... since the jacket is going to look new then go with a normal brass zipper.
lol
I'm curious if you own a horsehide leather jacket since you own live horses. When I wore my jacket to work yesterday, I was hesitant to show it to a lady coworker of mine who I believe also owns horse(s) out of concerns of possibly offending her.
If you do own a horsehide leather...
Sorry to hear that... hopefully it's not your sense of smell going bad.
Have you thought about maybe asking someone else to see if they can still smell the horsehide scent on your jacket? If they can't then you'll at least know that your sense of smell hasn't gone bad. :)
Very cool. I'm so glad I asked you guys this question. I was concerned the horsehide scent would go away in a matter of days/weeks, similar to how the "new car scent" goes away rather quickly.
Haha! Nice... actually I haven't hung the jacket yet in my closet (I'm keeping it draped over a chair right now)... given the weight of the jacket I want to make sure it doesn't break the hanging bar in my closet. :D
Which reminds me... do all Aero FQHH jackets have a standardized weight to...
