Thanks Bert. That is actually a picture from an old Colt catalogue. It is a Colt Commander with ivory grips. I do have the exact same pistol though with ivory grips. I agree with you on the look and feel...it doesn't get any better.
Thanks posting those Che. I still can't get Photobucket to work. Glad you are feeling better!
Thanks for the compliment Mike but Art deserves all the credit. I had no input on it. He had free rein to make me a hat I would like and he hit the nail on the head. I love the hat. Thanks Art!
DNO, great job on that Akubra. They are easy hats to work with because they are so well made. I usually spray distilled water on them instead of steam and then take my time and mold them the way I want. I actually do that when shaping a brand new Campdraft. The felt looks real spotty when it is...
Rabbit, I haven't blocked anything. Just went there today like always. I tried deleting my temporary internet files and cookies but that didn't help. I sent them an email to get help so maybe they can figure it out. For now though I can't post any pictures. I wish I could so you guys could see...
I tried that but it is frozen and doesn't go anywhere. I'll try deleting all my cookies and temporary internet files and see if that works. Thanks for your help.
I received my Lightweight Black Cherry and it is a beautiful color. Unfortunately I'm having trouble with Photobucket and can't post any pictures. They have a new beta version of their website and all it does is freeze up on my computer. If anybody knows the fix for this let me know. I'll try to...
Anybody having trouble with Photobucket? They have a new beta website and it freezes up everytime I go there now. I'm trying to upload some hat pictures which is why I asked this here :)
RBH,
I too have never met a thin ribbon I didn't like!
To set the records straight, Art didn't actually say "boring". He is too much of a gentleman. One of the great things about dealing with Art is once he gets to know you he can make you a hat you will like...without any input from you :)
Mine didn't come in yesterday so I should receive it today. I'll try to get some pictures up for everybody tonight.
Art has been patiently trying to break me of boring thin ribbon hats so he had free rein with this one :) I have no idea what he did with it so I can't wait to see it.
Jeff,
All those brim lengths look good on you. Even the 2 7/8" looks great. However, I think the 2 5/8" brims look best. I love the Wormser hat but it looks just a tad short. That might just be the angle of the photo plus the fact I prefer longer brims. I think maybe something in between like...
Great hats guys.
Che, that hat is gorgeous. Looks great with that outfit too.
Josh, the the Stephen L. Stetson looks great. Good job on the reblocking.
Besides making the sweatband conform easier to somebody's head shape it seems this system would speed up production too. I'm surprised more companies didn't use it.
Talcum powder does work great. What I do is lightly pile a mound of it on the spot but don't rub it in. Just let it sit there for a day or two then blow it off with an air compressor. If you brush it off you run the risk of spreading the oil it absorbed. If it doesn't get it all the first time...
I received a standard Campdraft in Moonstone recently and think that color would be a good candidate for another one of these special buys. In my opinion, it is a very classy color and would look good with a shorter brim for wearing with a business suit. Just a thought.
Thanks again for...
That turned out very nice. If they didn't put Stetson 100 on the sweatband or liner how do you know it is a 100? Can you post some pics of the inside? Thanks.
I try to do much the same as Alan. I try to be as friendly as possible but at least drop a hint that I would really appreciate the hat being packaged in a properly sized box. I have completed numerous transactions on eBay and have never had anyone intentionally try to take advantage of me. My...
Fedoralover,
I haven't tried to do anything with mine. It is just too pristine for me to be experimenting with. Yours looks great though. Post some pics after you crease it.
