I don't see why you couldn't or shouldn't go for rust knits as specific technical info on the jackets is sparse. I know - I spent months trawling the net for it before I went for mine. For instance, I never did find out what the linings were made of; from what I could tell, it would appear that...

My Aero C-3 was rather the same when it first appeared - but after a couple of winters worn over my B-6, it's now developed a lovely, curly nap after the best way to age any jacket: wearing it as often possible and in as inclement weather as possible. There's just no substitute for it IMHO. That...
Looks FANTASTIC!
Man, what a find! And what a rescue!!!
May I please ask what an A2 like that (shame on whoever ruined it that way. Shame!) went for on the Bay - and how much the restoration was and by whom? I'd love to know to who that credit goes.
You've got something special there. And I...
And in case you haven't seen it, JPK, here's my Aero ANJ-3 as it appeared when I first got it (along with photos of a rare and lovely original) - and on my very first thread!

I'm surprised at the lack of love for the ANJ-3 too. I adore my Aero ANJ-3, and even my harshest critic and ambivalent partner in such matters - my girlfriend - has said that she likes it the best of all my leather jackets! That speaks volumes in itself.
I personally think the ANJ-3 is superior...
Indeed, it can be risky - especially when someone omits some salient points to their point of issue (!) and then invites comments.
And so people (myself included) will go by previous posts made by the member in order to consider the source further and attempt to connect the dots for themselves...
Thanks for the clip and history lesson there, Sloan! Interesting. Looks well made and rather good.
Mind you, I'd have to get it on DVD so my girlfriend can watch it with subtitles. No way she'll crack those accents! (I was the same with The Wire though! Best TV cop series ever).
I still don't understand why you're asking which one of the three is the best one to keep (and from the tense you used, I'm assuming none of them have even shown up yet?).
If everyone here said the GW is best, but you actually prefer the Aero or ELC, what difference would asking make? Keep...
I agree with Peacoat, Rocketeer and HD and I think this topic is a bit off the mark as it's all too subjective -and invites further discord where it has gone before.
I could offer someone a bottle of wine that cost $300 and wax lyrical about the grapes, the soil, the climate, the agriculture...
Totally agree - it freshens the vintage look as it injects a shot of the contemporary … and yes, it extends the length of time you can wear your A2 - deeper into the Autumn.
Sure, the right hoodie can go great with an A2. I'd never thought about until one evening when I was watching a US cop show on TV one night and the lead was wearing a hoodie with his black leather jacket (similar to an ELC Luftwaffe) and I thought "Hey! That looks cool!" And so I tried wearing...
Yup, that's me!
And if I hadn't rediscovered my love of nylon with that L2-A (in a 40 - and I'm a 40R in a suit - but very close and well remembered!), I doubt I'd have gone for an N3-B at all! I still cannot believe how much I love this jacket after all these years (since 1987!) of loving my...
And yes Doctor, it was -28C with the windchill when I took the photo. Just looked it up: http://www.citynews.ca/2015/01/12/extreme-cold-weather-alert-issued-for-toronto-11/ and according to this, for once you just missed it in Niagara. But if you think on it and recall again that week of...
Thanks DD. Will do.
And what's great is that the eBay seller (and he's in Toronto) was a total pleasure to deal with - and he says that if he ever finds an even better one, I can trade it in with him for exactly what I paid and just pay the difference! And in the meantime, I have this - for...
