Well this was news to me. I've known greatly for most of my life of the reams of appalling atrocities meted out to the millions of Chinese and all our poor POWs (try reading The Last Highlander - now there's a book!) and all those poor unfortunates unlucky enough to be caught up in their swathe...
Yes, I loved the book too (that and Goshawk Squadron - Peter Robinson's tale of a RFC squadron in WW1). I should give Piece of Cake another go. Not seen it since the 90s … I always thought his dialogue was brilliant.
Oh yes. Get a load of what they said - just 6 days after the film was released! You couldn't make it up.

I really liked the fridge scene - it had that black comedic element mixed in with the sheer high drama … hey, just like the Mercedes badge scene! Say, you don't think there was any deeper meaning in him coming out of the fridge do you?
PS. Ohhh… maybe it was a reference to the COLD war ...
I was going to say, Rocketeer - your jackets look really great to me and like originals!
We have to bear in mind that these jackets were designed to be worn for a year or two - and if the crew were lucky enough to survive their tours, could be issued with a new one as they were developed (B-3 >...
Man, that's not a bad first idea of a plot to have worked with! Better than what they did (it was all downhill after the fridge for me… it was sad to see).
Mind you, it can't have been a completely empty and worthless film 'cos do you remember how it rankled and upset the Russians at the time...
For my money, Red Tails is the worst war movie ever. I've posted my full opinions on amazon and you'll spot me, I'm sure.
All you need to know about this film is that the target demographic audience was the mid-teens (!!) age group when production started - and as production progressed, it was...
Oh, I'd have to disagree with you there. Karen Allen …. oh my. Utterly charming and gorgeous. She nailed the role.
And after Bladerunner, I don't think any director in Hollywood wanted to work with Sean Young again. She was the Megan Fox of the day ...
Okay, I can confess this here: I was in Utah quite recently and was casually strolling the shops in my black ELC Luftwaffe jacket, new blue jeans and black RM Williams boots. It was just nice to be wearing something other than my Irvin or B-3 for a change.
And in one shop (that sold leather...
Nice B-6 Deacon. I see it's of the pre-broken grain hide like mine (mine's from 2006 or so, and I got it second-hand from eBay in virtually unworn condition) and I love the original "Golden Book" appearance of our jackets.
I occasionally think I could live without it ... but then we get to...
Nice one. And I hope you had a good Easter too and you didn't wake up to snow on Easter Sunday as we did …!
Nice Snoopy too. I totally approve.
Mind, if he walks into the vet like that, he can expect a "Where'd you leave your Sopwith Camel, mate? Yuk Yuk, Fnarr Fnarr ..."
Perhaps Indy doesn't feel the heat of the jacket as he's a replicant? My God. What if he isn't even aware he's not human?!
I can't believe some folks read so much into things. As Freud used to say, "Sometimes a hotdog is just a hotdog."
So he clung to a Mercedes radiator and pulled the piece...
My God. The ones who died within 10 minutes of baling out of the B-29 were the lucky ones.
Horrendous.

Many thanks for the great suggestions - and I looked them all up and have enjoyed looking them over and yes, they're in the ball park (forgive the pun!) for what I'm after …
The tactical cap is great - but I fear it would "over cook" my military look with my jackets a little, as nice as they...
It's "The Wonder Years"! Great photo!
I never played baseball, hailing from England originally (so it was just a bit of Rounders at school - as close as I got) and never got in to it here, but have enjoyed the occasional Blue Jays game here. And I'm just making my way through Ken Burns'...
Well, you could say that … I am still wearing my B-2 caps on the pre-dawn dog walks out of sheer necessity! This winter feeling can't drag on much longer … it's enough already. UNCLE!
Hi guys,
This is new to me - straying from the comfort of the Outerwear section and my love of vintage jackets - but I need some advice on where to find a really good quality, vintage style baseball cap.
I feel at my best in my Aero ANJ-3 and ELC B-3/B-6 jackets (very 1943) and in my cargo...
