Hey, I just bought a vintage Borsalino on eBay - and had it gone up to $200, I would have paid it. (Thankfully, it stayed reasonable.) When you really want something, it's worth whatever you have to pay for it. I just figure that I can always sell off some of my collection to pay for...
I've been a musician for about fifteen years, I guess. I started on piano, then played drums and wrote the songs for an alterntaive rock band for six or seven years, put out five albums, toured the States eight or nine times. Good times.
In more recent years, I moved to piano and vocals as...
glad to hear it!
I can't wait until the boy grows into his "Jim Penney's Hats For Boys"-brand fedora I picked up on eBay for him last year - it's small, but still not small enough for him.
Once winter comes, I'll have some help here at the studio and I'll have a little more recreation...
Sorry to be such a stranger around here lately. Having a kid can really screw up daily routine...
Anyway, I've put a few hats up on eBay, including an NOS Borsalino which I never got around to wearing and an almost NOS Open Road, as well as an Adam and a Stratoliner. I bought a Borsalino that...
The Grove, such as it is, is still there, although it was heavily redesigned in 1969. They did take a good portion of that newer facade off, though, and supposedly they're going to restore the front of it to its former (pre-70s) glory. We'll see, though.
That also means that the west side...
Vivian, we live in the same town. Man, there are a lot of Arizonians here now! awesome.
The Adaptive reuse thing was an option at some point, but if you ask me, it was just the school district trying to make it look like they actualy entertained the idea, when in fact I don't think they...
Mojave Jack, I grew up in Pittsburgh. I never went down to the Strip District all that much, except to go to Primanti's. Next time I'm there (my whole family still lives there), I'll have to drag my wife to Klavon's. I've never been there, never even heard about it.

depressing. There's talk of a wake in the next week or two at the RMS Bounty. I might try to come in for that. I wanted to try to see the hotel in her final days, but it just went down too fast.
yes! I have lost a little sleep over a few of the auction "outings."
although, I think posting auctions of very rare hats (like an original Bogie-owned hat or something like that) should still be OK. Probably more in the "Hats" section, though...I feel like it's safe to say that any hat...
YES!!!!
I will take it! (Duff is my business partner's last name...and while he won't wear it, he'll get a kick out of me wearing it.)
I'll PM you as well.
Yeah, I also had a pLayboy which I just sold - the brim was a little narrow, and I don't wear grey hats all that often. And I was trying to raise the dough to buy some other hats and a suit. But I like those hats a lot. Wish I could find one like you have!
I don't mind wearing almost any hat I've got in most conditions...but having said that, any silverbelly, white, or bone-colored hats I tend to realy go easy on, mostly because I'm too busy to be sending hats all over the place for cleaning.
It doesn't rain much here in AZ, but I generally find...
I saw that Playboy on eBay, I think. Glad one of us got it. I like that hat (the color especially) a lot.
I have a similarly unlined Stetson Medalist, although mine came from the Canadian Stetson plant. Same label as the Philly hats, but it gives the location as being the Canadian plant...
