The Ambassador Hotel is Gone.
The Grove, such as it is, is still there, although it was heavily redesigned in 1969. They did take a good portion of that newer facade off, though, and supposedly they're going to restore the front of it to its former (pre-70s) glory. We'll see, though. yes! I have lost a little sleep over a few of the auction "outings." although, I think posting auctions of very rare hats (like an original Bogie-owned hat or something like that) should still be OK. Stetson Playboy (wartime?)...
Yeah, I also had a pLayboy which I just sold - the brim was a little narrow, and I don't wear grey hats all that often. And I was trying to raise the dough to buy some other hats and a suit. But I like those hats a lot. Wish I could find one like you have! -

Different hats for different Occasions
I don't mind wearing almost any hat I've got in most conditions...but having said that, any silverbelly, white, or bone-colored hats I tend to realy go easy on, mostly because I'm too busy to be sending hats all over the place for cleaning. It doesn't rain much here in AZ, but I generally find... -

I saw that Playboy on eBay, I think. Glad one of us got it. I like that hat (the color especially) a lot. I have a similarly unlined Stetson Medalist, although mine came from the Canadian Stetson plant. Same label as the Philly hats, but it gives the location as being the Canadian plant...
