Recasing of timepieces was done back in the day, but would be difficult (and expensive) to achieve for a pocket watch today without the correct donor case.
Back in the 40's and early 50's many Rolex's were recased in Australia (Hanley cases) to get around import restrictions. Not as desirable...
As to the seats, I fitted NOS Howard Zinc seatcovers to my '54 H/T.
Fit could be better in spots, but its a period correct look and very serviceable. They have been on for about 10 years now, and still in good shape.

I recently picked up an Elgin A-11 wristwatch.
At least that is what the case back says. Its non hacking and I assumed all A-11 were hacking.
It might be OK, be faulty, or be a frankenwatch:(.
Can anyone clarify wether non hacking is correct?
It's keeping good time and I'm happy...
