super hat- my other half loves hers, was originally meant for me, but here again-
too small for me, perfect for her- hers is a shade darker, but still in the neighborhood of your color. You're gonna love it-congrats!
:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap great hat-color of ribbon is just right along
with the light body color. And a pretty good score, too! photos of it on a live
head?
It's an odd thing, a hat is. Put one on, step outside the house, and you simply feel "different". And you (I) can feel that people regard me as "different".
Been wearing hats for about 15 yrs or so, and I still get a neat feeling when
I don a Fedora and go out in the world. Don't leave home...
Another good story about transactions today. Great hat, good photos, and Art-
you're doing so many of us such great work with the humility and true professionalism shown each time I read about you-makers and vendors of
all kind & shape could do with reading a few posts about dealing with you...
Bones- Welcome to the fray! I don't see a problem at all. I see an opportunity
for the both of you to get closer together by simply working to get a hat that fits your head-after all, you can't remember the size of your head in relation to a hat that's made differently than the average...
I try to use esnipe exclusively. I'll still watch an auction, off and on, over the duration-if it's a long auction and I've placed my bid very early,I've found it does
pay to check the wind before the last minute-there may be changes of heart/mind if the price suddenly takes off, but I'll try...
One thing stands out for me- a longer-haired person can wear a Fedora and look
good in it. My greying noggin wants to keep longish hair, but vanity precludes
either long hair/no hat-short hair/hats galore. And the fit problem, and hat hair.
Sounds all too vain-sorry-but we've had numerous...
Art & Douglas- what a killer combination. Didya ever think what would happen if
those two sat down for some hours, in Art's studio, and just tossed a few thoughts around? I can envision Douglas showing photos of the collection he's amassed, and Art's glasses fogging up with ideas...scary...
Wonderful work of art-again; it looks just right on you,J.S., the color, ribbon,
and style are just superb. Another advertisement for a fine artist, and kudos to
a collector with great eyes!
I bin tryin' to figure. Can't. Gotta say, the hat Douglas has on- the light OR-
is a stunner! But I love the style of that particular hat. Might have Art put his
magic fingers to replicate that one, with a touch more rake to the crown...
I've got a Bluish-Gray Stratoliner that I'll try to post- once again, computer foiling all attempts at photos going to FL
I happen to be looking for a Stratoliner in either grey or brown, best possible condition, 7 3/8 LO; the better quality the more I can pay, and it can be a
Borsalino...
When I said that I had, on occasion, removed hats for people, I should have included the time frame- back when my temperment didn't match my common sense, and action=reaction was not an understood concept.
I tend to follow Douglas' credo on hat etiquette; came about it through
remembering...
I have, on occasion, taken people's hats off their heads and handed it to them-all very quickly. And then not so nicely reminded them that their hat was in the way of me looking at the flag. Works every time, no matter where the flag is. :D
