Baron- I found one too. Same markings on the sweatband even. Yours is a lot older though.
Well- you could say I've been making out like a bandit.
In the basement room of an antique store in hampden, bawlmer sat two hats.
The first was a '60's cheap-o stingy. Moth eaten all up. I counted over 20. There was a good 3 inch tear in the felt where the crown met the brim. The seller wanted 35 bucks for it. Absolutely nuts!
But, sitting on the peg below it was a mint condition plush borsalino.
It's sort of a dark eggplant color.
Brim is just shy of 2 inches and is raw edge.
Here come the interior markings:
XXXXXX (that's 6 X's)
size 5
standard borsalino logo on sweatband
Also stamped with
"A. Radiconcini
[something I can't make out]
Via del corso- 139 Via due macelli- 115"
The liner logo is the blue oval with gold lettering. Above the Borsalino scrpt, it says Marque Grand Luxe.
The serial tag only has one set of numbers, "11558" and the words "Lupo" and "Uranio"
Roma"
