DINERMAN!!! Congratulations! whatta deal. Every time I think the
horizon looks bleak, there's nuttin' new, BOOM! you drop a bomb like
that, and the shrapnel's all candy. Woke me the heck up. Sincere
best wishes for you with this new hat-new style for you-and elevated
to...
both ribbons look fine; however, being the contrarian that I'm cursed to be,
I'd try a ribbon about half the size of the one you slipped on; the hat has a definite Western feel to it (IMHO)-and going with a wider ribbon seems to make a transition that tries hard, but just misses the mark by a...
I'm in complete agreement, Tony- I've even attemped to stop altering hats
myself, and send them out to an expert. But when it's 2 sizes small...all ya can do is sit back and watch the felt fly. In this case-not much action on a
very desirable hat. I've got a couple of One Hundreds-not by...
Wish my cranium wasn't so full of gas- did anybody here win the Stetson
One Hundred on OFAS today?? $66.00!!! Oh my fur and whiskers, someone put my head in a vise so's I can buy these smaller sizes...
What a deal!! can't wait to see photos of the winner proudly wearing one
terrific hat...
great job! funny how things right under our noses get overlooked...
you'll love the hat-a piece of non-asked-for advice-put it over some steam,
just enough to get things warm and piable-inside & out-and then plop that
baby right on yr noggin. Works for me- the hat will take on my head's...
Now that there is one sweet hat! I'd get it cleaned & reblocked, and if it fits
you, you might not want to take it off...great price for that hat, great color, what more could you ask for? (yeah, I know- one in my size, too...):eusa_clap
That's one beautiful hat-and I wouldn't change the ribbon either.
Looks like it's a 7 3/8's from here though...and you're only a couple of
hours away...see you soon:D
And a big thank you!! harder than Chinese algebra finding decent
duds without combing through the wannabe consignment shops or
at the other end - the Salvation Army;
So it's off to Bobby's, looking for things I don't need, can't afford,
don't have room for, and I already have three of...
Bobby from Boston?? Can you give us an idea where this emporium is at-
worth a trip in from the wild West half of the state to find a real hat store...
The last real hatter I knew of in Mass. was Nadar the Hatter in Springfield.
Master hatter, had tremendous selection of vintage hats, men's...
Johnny: I've got a pile of Western hats that I'm ready to part with-Stetsons,
Resisitols, Baileys-one is a 100X-most of them in lighter shades, a few are White/ Ivory...PM me if you're at all interested-let me know what size you need. By the way- 50%of them are vintage, the other half are...
I've got a great motorcycle jacket-too big. Would love to wear it and have
it work correctly-gotta keep the air out, so has to be snug at collar and bottom of body. All black, incl. lining-acetate; wondering if a dip in a hot bathtub would do the deed???
If anyone has any thoughts on this...
Gotta couple hats- someone scored big time on OFAS with my Borsalino Allesandria- have a couple of others up- a Stratoliner & an OR; both quality hats- the Strat's a gem. Please excuse the self-advertising...but I think I
owe you guys (and ladies) a head's-up to some top-drawer hats; selling...
First bit of cool weather in a while- wore the hat in my avatar-a Resistol
"Beaver One Hundred"; thin ribbon, edge bound, 4 1/2" crown bashed into a
traditional teardrop. Soft as a baby's bottom, and smells better.
Tough call...For warmer weather-a wonderful Fedora made by Bill Nadar in Springfield, MA. soft, sweet, superb lines; the colder weather hat would be a Borsalino Grand Luxe "Ditta Umberto Lanobetti"-Firenze-inside the band marked "Palladio" and then "Cocisca"; never seen the markings on any other...
Karol: You're not alone with the photo-posting blues...I've tried just about
everyone, and nuttin... Oh-excuse me- one picture. So if anyone wants
photos from us, we'll email 'em right on out...or see the hats on the bay.
Something is wrong, and I don't think it's just a couple of...
FlyLot: don't despair...looking through stuff is an amazing experience-it's
like Fibber McGee's closet. Bound to uncover a few 1/8's...
found one of my neighbors in the attic...
Have a size 7 Borsalino Allessandria for sale on our favourite auction site...
